"Disappointing Stay – Look Elsewhere"

Disappointing Stay – Look Elsewhere If you're looking for a rundown, poorly maintained building, this might be the place for you. This used to be a Marriott, but it's now operated by Bright Wild—and unfortunately, it shows. I stayed with my family in unit 332B, which was right next to a sketchy elevator that barely worked. It was loud, unreliable, and honestly felt unsafe—like it could drop at any moment. The room itself resembled a cramped efficiency apartment. It didn’t feel clean, and the overall space was uncomfortable and tight for a family stay. The rest of the building was just as unimpressive—nothing stood out in a good way. Sadly, there wasn’t a single aspect of our stay that felt up to par. I would not recommend staying here. Save yourself the disappointment and look elsewhere.

"Bumpy start but great stay"

Very nice condo, clean and very spacious. Comfortable bed. Kitchen was very nice, all top appliances. Wish pool area was larger because it gets very busy. Small area for the size of the hotel. We had reserved a poolside room but got a room overlooking the restaurant. A/c was not working. After a 2 hour ordeal with the front desk we were switched to a different room, much better view. Manager credited the parking fee($125/5 days) and personally brought champagne to the room because of the inconvenience. The shuttle is great, make sure you get there a little early when leaving town, fills up quickly. Bumpy start but had a great stay here, would go back again!

"Nice hotel away from the action of Duval St"

Very nice hotel. The rooms and the property were clean and had all the amenities you need. However, part of the reason we booked this hotel was because it had a shuttle, but we never ended up using it because it was inconvenient. It only goes to Duval St (not the beach) as we had read and only leaves at the top of every hour until 8 pm. We ended up not being able to fit on the bus the first day due to crowding, then the other times we got there a few minutes after the hour and the bus already left, so it was not worth waiting around all that time when everyone was ready to go. Additionally, it stops running pretty early if you're going to the Duval St area for dinner. For these reasons, we just ended up using Uber during our 4-day trip to get around town. The hotel is about 10 minute from Duvall St and not many places you can walk to nearby. The other thing is that the pool is quite small for as many rooms as the hotel has. We tried to go out to the pool around 2 pm on a Thursday and there was not one lounge chair to be found. I would recommend getting out to the pool pretty early. The pool bar was nice, but pretty expensive. Drinks cost about $15 each, but they were good. Other than these minor inconveniences, with the pool and shuttle, it was a good choice for our larger group of friends who prefer a little more space.

"Would return"

We stayed here previously when it was a Marriott property. Now it’s run by Brightwild and it’s clear they haven’t done anything in terms of updates, which maybe they can get away with for now, but some updates are needed to maintain the integrity of the property. For example, several pool chairs need replacement and some other areas could use painting and cosmetic work. Otherwise, the room was just as I remembered it. Everything in the room worked properly until the last night. The air conditioning broke. We notified the front desk and a maintenance person came and was able to fix it. Tavern and Town is still excellent. They have happy hour with $10 appetizers and buy one get one drinks. If you stay, definitely plan to eat here one night. They still have a shuttle that goes downtown. That’s a major perk. The Ubers are not cheap, nor is parking! The check in experience was good. We were able to check into our unit early (like noon). We couldn’t get a late check out though. We asked if they still offered champagne at check in and they did pour us a glass upon request. We wanted to book a Brightwild sunset cruise as it leaves from the property, but we waited until the last minute and it was a Monday, so they weren’t able to accommodate us as no one else had booked that day. But, I read good reviews on it and would try it next time. Overall, we were happy with our stay and would likely return. It’s a good value considering the amenities.

"Nothing special here."

Reservation for an Oceanside view room through our agent was not honored and we ended up facing a very busy street with no balcony. Room is showing wear as was much of the facility. There is no daily room service. Probably could have had better service and view elsewhere for our +$400/night room price. Confirm directly with hotel for preferred room.
