"If you saw the movie Get out, Get Out!"

How this property is able to maintain a 4/5 rating is beyond me. It is a dump and not worth more than an 84 dollar a night stay. I visited and booked this property from Nov 11-16, 2024. After one night, I heard the actor, Daniel Kaluuya, from the movie "Get Out" to actually get out and run! I cannot cannot tell you how disappointed I was upon checking into this property, as a Gold Elite Member, and equally amazed at how the property flies under the banner of the Marriott Flag. To begin, I checked into the hotel and was asked if I would like housekeeping by the associate. It was included in my reservation notes and should have been a no-brainer for a 5-day stay. Secondly, I had to ask for directions to my room. The directions the associate were so convoluted that I ended up going in the wrong direction, only to discover the following day that there was an easier route. When I arrived to the room, it was evident that the doors had not been cleaned in some time as indicated by the dirty finger marks on the door. The security latch was inoperable and because I travel often, I was required to utilize a door lock travel mechanism. I requested a pool view only to be provided a view of the parking lot and a decorative bar in front of my room. After disinfecting the room, because there were blood stains on the rear of the bathroom door which was also filthy, I stepped outside to make phone calls. A hotel guest approached me, introduced himself, and was about to offer me drugs when I asked him to "beat it". All night long, I was awakened by motorists driving on a nearby street as my room was located close to the street. Every hour on the hour I was up. Following a sleepless night, the cleaning crew made so much noise. One would think that the room next door was being demolished for construction and a new build out. The absolute worst stay ever. The Fairfield Inn gave me Friday the 13th vibes - I was waiting for Jason to jump out any min. After peacefully located in a suite at my new hotel, I discovered that I was charged a parking fee and tax and made it clear to the associate that I did not. Please follow our reviews about this place being a dump. I have serviced section 8 housing that was cleaner than this place. Signed, Mr. Solid Waste.

"Terrible"

This hotel is terrible. We paid over $700 USD for 2 nights and were completely disgusted. The "breakfast" was absolutely horrible. There were zero meat options (no sausage, bacon, ham etc.), no veggies at all, the only fruit available were almost rotten bananas. I have enclosed a photo of one of the menu items, appalling. The shuttle service they offer also was a disappointment. They told us to book ahead of time by calling reception which we did, we arrived 5 minutes early as instructed just to be advised that the shuttle was full and we had to wait another 30 minutes for the shuttle to come back to get us and on the way back at the pick up point the shuttle did not show at all. We had to Uber back to the hotel to find out the driver had fallen asleep and forgot to pick up the guests. The property itself is very dated and needs a facelift. On a positive note, the lady at reception (Aika?), was very pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is located next to a main road so very busy at night (not great when you're a light sleeper!) I asked to switch rooms and Ellen came to the rescue and gave us a new room right away from the noise. I forgot clothes in the closet after the move and once again she quickly contacted housekeeping and retrieved my items. The staff are just lovely! The pool bar was also great. Delicious frozen drinks. Good area with lots of restaurants and a quick drive to Duval street.

My first experience here was 2013. At that time, I thought this spot was it. Coming back in 2024, it is time for a complete refresh. They have done minimal to keep this place up to par. It is still a decent spot to stay if you must, but no doubt, they should be considering a refresh at this point to bring it back to its former glory.

We had two rooms and stayed overnight. Got upgraded to a suite, considering the Bonvoy status. Highlights: -Great location and the hotel is only 2 miles from the Duval Street. -Nice big outdoor pool, free car parking(some sheltered parking as well) -Front desk staff was very friendly. -The hotel lobby offered cold lemonade at the time of check-in. -Breakfast was decent and nice outdoor and covered seating area by the swimming pool. -Free shuttle rides (drop-off and pick up) to Duval street. Reservation is needed. -If you like running/walking outdoors, use the long stretches of sidewalks just outside the hotel entrance going toward the KW airport. Overall, comfortable stay and we will return next time we are in Key West.
