I was quite disappointed in Schlitterbahn. I had been wanting to go there for years, but it did not match the "best in the world" billing. I've been to better water parks. For one, many of the rides were closed. We visited on the last day of the season, but I don't know why that would matter. Also, the tube rides all require staffing at each drop because they are not designed well enough to allow you to continue (people always get stuck). Finally, the theming of the park was almost nonexistent. I've been to Disney and Six Flags waterparks where the landscaping was lush and inviting. The lazy rivers are a pleasure to enjoy because of the the flowers and waterfall features. There is nothing like that at Schlitterbahn. The park is large, but that is all it really has going for it.

Group of 6 adults. Tickets, cabana, fast pass = $1200. Cabana service was slow. We texted the number provided and it took an hour for the server to arrive. Many rides were closed due to “lack of staff”, which is what we heard last year when we visited. The fast pass is a joke. We waited 20 minutes in a non-moving fast pass line before inquiring with the kid running it, who said he was new and that the regular line people “just kept coming”. Of course they are going to do that if you keep the line open! We don’t blame the kid. That is clear lack of training on management’s part. We waited for over an hour in another “fast pass” line. Which means the people in the regular line had waited much longer! This was our second time to visit and the experience was awful both times. We will not be back. Do not recommend. Terrible management and training of employees.

$244 for 2 kids and 1 adult. Water parks are not cheap...but at least Volente Beach and Typhoon Texas provide a way better value at a fraction of the price. Crowded. Wait times for more popular rides were 45-50 minutes. Rides were ok, but nothing that makes your heart beat faster ... boring compared to Typhoon and Volente. As for the mellower rides - lazy river and tidal pools - packed with people like sardines in a can. Tough to navigate. The tree cover provides much needed shade (and is actually a nice feature of the park). But unless you're familiar with the park, the winding walkways and stairs make it difficult to find rides and meeting places despite the maps. You spend more time walking around dragging a black inner-tube up hills and stairs ... then waiting on yet another line ... than you actually do in the water. All in all we fit in 3 rides in almost 5 hours. Food expensive ($14 hotdog, $15 chicken sandwhich) and poor quality. Cold, greasy... Park is divided into East and West sections - joined by a shuttle bus, which requires yet another wait in a line to get on the bus. I understand this was a family run business back in the 1980's and was considered part of the community. But that was then. Now, it's just overpriced and poorly run mediocrity at best. Won't be going back.

Everyone bought a 2 day pass. We drove 7 hours only to find out 1/2 of the park is closed except on weekends. So, the kiddie side was open. The lines were well over an hour long, so we did the 2 river tube rides they had and went back to the motel. This is our 3rd trip here and first time we have experienced this. No refunds. Lesson learned. We ONLY wanted to do the other side:(

Some friends and I went for a second trip last weekend. We ran into several issues that cause me to give it this rating. First, in the beach area near the masterbalster they are requiring lifejackets to enter. This is not the issue. People leave them loose in the water and they get tangled around others’ legs. Someone should be in the water making sure guests wear them or they just need to not have people wear them. Secondly, at the old park the following day we encountered two rude employees at the beginning and end of the day. The parking attended turned away people with disability placards (including two disabled veterans and a security guard screamed at people loading their vehicles at the end of the day for not moving fast enough. Third and finally, more than half the rides were closed leading to overcrowding in the pools. It was chaotic and people kept getting jumped on. We will not be back unless and until things change. It was not like this before Cedar Fair and Six Flags took over.
