My wife and I are both platinum elite members and stay at Holiday Inn Express locations across the country. We use HIE primarily because it is consistently clean, comfortable, and a fair value. This New Braunfels location is terribly disappointing. We booked 2 rooms Sat 12/28 to Sun 12/29. Not clean, not well maintained, poor service. 1) When we arrived Sat around 4pm, the trash can outside was very full, but I assumed it would be emptied soon (nope). By the time we left around 10am on Sun, there was trash piled all around it and staff sitting on the bench outside vaping and looking at cell phones. 2) One of the two elevators wasn't working and the one that was working didn't sound good. The lack of elevators had our family waiting multiple times to be able to get on one that wasn't full. 3) There are ice machines only the 1st & 3rd floor (we were on 2), but the one on the 1st floor was broken 4) The there was hair (more than one) and small stains on the comforter and on the mattress cover (we pulled back the fitted sheet to check). 5) The shower curtain needed to be washed (not clean, but not filthy either). There were dirt smudges on the walls that I was able to wipe off, so I know it could have been done by house cleaning. 6) Despite all this, the breakfast was the absolute worst. We arrived at 8:30 am (they were supposedly open to 10am) The pancake machine was broken, they were out of eggs, there were no cinnamon rolls, the biscuits were cold. The poor woman servicing that area didn't speak English, but I don't think this was her fault. The breakfast debacle and everything else is really a management issue. We would not recommend staying at this location!!

We drove all night from Louisiana. Because of detours off interstate, due to construction & a bad wreck that shut down the interstate a 7 hour drive took us almost 12 hours. We were exhausted & Bryan got us an early check in. He was amazing not only to us, but; all the guests. When we checked out he insisted on walking us out & helping us carry luggage to the car. He truly cares about people & enjoys his job. Thanks Bryan!

Very nice place, staff was great and would go back to stay! Beds were good. Breakfast was good but nice to have bacon once in a while.But the people who were putting out the food always were keeping it and the coffee filled. Easy to get to and from where we had to go. Had what we needed at the time we were in the area

The hotel is clean, check inn was fine. Front desk gentleman was super nice and very friendly. I'm giving the 3 out of 5 because I felt like the hotel was just average. Nothing wrong with it, but definitely not very special about it. The room was clean. The bathroom was efficient. Breakfast in the morning was just your average hotel breakfast. We only stayed here one night. I would not go out of my way to stay here .

The room was fine, except for cracked bathroom tiles. However the floors throughout the hotels are very uneven. My husband nearly tripped and fell. The chairs in the dining area have seen much better days — stained and worn. As with many other Holiday In. expresses, Monday food has so many things missing because of bad weekend planning g. Couldn’t even get plain milk or yogurt.
