Osterport hotel in Copenhagen is a interesting hotel. The rooms are smaller than a Motel 6 room in the US and have little furniture or clouset space that would make more than an overnight stay more pleasent. We paid extra not to have a room facing the busy rail system located next to the hotel. This upgrade also included a "larger" room, which must make the standard rooms very cramped by US standards.Rooms are clean with large common areas available for all guest to enjoy. Breakfast is about $18 US dollars and is ample and over at 10 AM, at which time everything is removed "promptly"- so eat fast. The hotel is located in an area of Copenhagen where about 20 minute walks bring you to many great places to visit, such as the national palace, 16th century castlesb, parks, the Little Mermaid statue, and many museums. We used the Hop On Hop Off bus and found the bus service a great way to see Copenhagen for the four days we were there. Make sure to get the canal boat tour to see all that the city has to offer. Only breakfast is available at the hotel, but across the street from the hotel at the railroad station there is a grocery store,7-11 store, and coffee shops where fine food and drinks are available to eat there or take back to your room. Cabs are expensive but the city bus and metro system is reliable and much less expensive. We found that everyone we encountered understood and spoke English. Our credit cards were accepted everywhere we went so we exchanged little local currency. YES - Copenhagen is an expensive city, but we came to appreciate the city's history and had an enjoyable time.

The room are very average and basic with no AC. The lobby looks nice compared to the rooms and the toilet is super small. Moreover,The train station is next to it which makes it very noisy.

This was the nearest station to the Design Museum, so we went there one day. It's being improved, so there's lots of scaffolding. When the ticket machine was broken on our way back, there wasn't one working on that platform and no ticket office/anyone to ask. Not great, but one very friendly Dane did apologise on Denmark's behalf, which was amiable and humorous!

I used this station to take the "S" train to Hilarod to see the Frederiksborg Castle continuing on to Kronborg Castle in Helsingor. Trains are very comfortable and have digital display on stations on the route. All train and ferry rides are free with the Copenhagen card.
