This was our first visit to New York and we stayed at Crowne Plaza Times Square, Manhattan. We arrived on December 4, 2024 and we had the pleasure of meeting Maritza - checked us in very smoothly and professional. The hotel is exceptional clean and our room was very clean too. I can say, we walked over to Junior's Restaurant on 49 the Street, across from the hotel - and ordered coffee and breakfast(yogurt). Faster and cheaper than the deli in hotel. We will definitely visit NY again and stay at this hotel. The location of the hotel is phenomenal!

I will NEVER go back! I am out of state and read all of the details for New Year’s Eve and thought this would be a great experience for my husband and I. When we arrived, my husband went inside to check it and get the keys to our room so we could unload the car. As I sat in the car for approximately 3-5 mins waiting on my husband, the valet came up and knocked on my window and told me to move my car or check it in. Mind you, there were 2 unoccupied SUVs in front of me, and there were no other people there. I wasn't blocking any spaces to the door; I wasn't taking up too much room or blocking the flow of traffic. We're simply trying to check in so we could get our stuff up to our room. I told him this, and he said I had 3 more minutes to move my car. This was just the beginning. After we got back from parking our car, everything was great. Times Square was amazing, and the hotel seemed to be clean. Until I moved the chair in the room and seen a broken finger nail and an un-vacuumed floor but I’ll digress. We bought the New Year's Eve package and got our wristbands the morning of the 31st. Everything went smoothly; however, because we were from Michigan, we did not understand that this was a free event and that our package would not allow us to hang out in the area during the live performances. Which ended being too far away to even see any of that anyways. So.. essentially, we were scammed out of $800 by this hotel. The $800 was paid for you to be escorted out into the area in front of the hotel at 11:15 pm; no drinks or anything were included and that space was completely open the entire night. We foolishly paid $400 a piece to stand out in front of our hotel, where you cannot even see the live performances for a whopping 45 minutes just to witness the ball drop, mind you, at a free event! I assure you this is NOT WORTH the money or the frustration. We travel all around the country and are platinum elite members and use these hotels often. We are completely appalled that they are scamming their guest like this. I and several other guests went and talked to the manager, and I even called and made a complaint. I never received a phone call back. They have now just lost a long-term customer out of pure greed. I would personally avoid at all costs.

"The hotel’s location in Times Square is excellent, made it convenient to visit local attractions"

My stay at the Crowne Plaza was quite comfortable. The hotel’s location in Times Square is excellent, made it convenient to visit local attractions like the Empire State Building, Central Park, and Rockefeller Center. The staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing our experience. However, the entrance from Times Square could use some improvement, as it felt neglected. Additionally, while the rooms were satisfactory, they were a bit small and lacked a wow factor. Overall, it was a decent stay but with some room for enhancement.

We had an incredibly disappointing stay at the Crowne Plaza in Times Square from December 23rd to December 25th, 2024. Right from check-in, the staff were outright rude and dismissive. Several other guests I spoke with also shared the same frustrating experiences—clearly no action has been taken to address these ongoing issues. I really wish I had read the reviews before trusting the brand blindly. Maintenance was clueless when our thermostat’s display panel failed (it just needed new batteries) and tried to fob us off with a small fan heater instead. On top of that, the staff condescendingly told us the room was “comfortable” at 18°C (about 64°F) when it was -10°C outside, and we’d just arrived from the Caribbean! Housekeeping was equally disappointing—our room was never properly serviced, and we struggled to get basic towels. I requested a kettle multiple times (it’s now 2025, and I’m still waiting!). Calls to guest services or the front desk went unanswered, and we had to physically go down to the lobby and wait over 30 minutes just to speak to someone. The manager was nowhere to be found, apparently hiding in the office, and the front desk staff were rude to other guests as well. For a Crowne Plaza in Times Square with the high rates they charge, this was an absolute letdown. I have yet to receive my deposit refund, and overall, I am appalled at the lack of basic customer service. I believe compensation is warranted given the abysmal experience. If you’re considering this hotel, do yourself a favor: read all the recent reviews first!

Booked this hotel for the sole purpose to spend NYE in Times Square. Called before I booked and was told that I would be able to see the ball drop right outside the hotel. WAS NOT informed that they charged a $450 fee for this. To simply walk outside the FRONT DOOR. This was a complete scam on behalf of the hotel and nothing more than a money grab. Even their own workers confirmed this is an annual scam ran by the hotel. The hotel is dated and in need of a serious renovation. The rooms are HOT! The hotel controls the temps of the rooms and in the winter months the AC is turned off. It was 60 degrees the week of New Years and therefore the rooms are HOT! The heat is on constantly and when the temps dont support the need for that the hotel doesnt adjust. There is a window that "cracks" open but it was broken therfore we had to prop it open with a shoe to get any remote relief from the heat. An average room temp of 75 degrees is NOT comfortable. The rooms are dated in decor. All basic needs are met but if you are looking for a high end experience this hotel is NOT IT! Its only advantage is it is prime location and thats clearly what you pay for because its NOTHING else other than that. The staff was friendly and accommodating where they could be.
