"Off and on heat but great location"

Really 3.5 stars. The location is ideal if you take the 320 bus to the Port Authority bus terminal in NYC. The bus stop and ticket kiosk is across from the hotel. Plus there is a covered walkway to a garage which is three stories and allows you to park for free! Very close to Harmon Meadows shopping. Room is clean with soft mattress. Biggest problems were the heating thermostat that seemed to work sporadically and kept the room feeling cold. Walls are thin so you can hear hallway conversations. Has breakfast which was buffet style with eggs, meat and pastries. We would stay again because of its location but hope the next room has better heating system.

"Basic hotel, nice rooms, issues with breakfast buffet!"

Average hotel, large room with a seperate seating area (couch, lamp, desk, TV etc), which is great! However, unlike other Hyatt Place hotels, this one disappointed us with the breakfast, which is included. There were black plastic bags covering holes in the walls & ceiling, and the one directly behind the FOOD was leaking water down into a bucket, which was gross! It was approximately 1 and a half feet behind the hot food items. The staff had a hard time keeping the buffet clean, Which was also gross, and at one point they ran out of silverware and used plastic utensils, which is unlike any other Hyatt I've ever been to. Poor planning/management? Low staff?.... I do not know, but it was alot worse than I would expect from a Hyatt Place. They are usually on point. One last issue,,,, there's only 2 elevators, located in center of building, and during busy times, you end up waiting a while, as in several minutes!!!! If you don't care about a view I recommend a low floor in case you need to take the stairs!!!!!

"Great option for 20mins only outside NYC"

Great location for those exploring NYC with starting point in Times Square, as direct bus line (320) for only 20mins drive, having bus station right in front of the hotel. For those travelling by car, you can enjoy free parking with plenty of space. As extra: you can see NYC at sunrise from upper levels room (facing NYC, of course)

"Nice location, nice customer service, but disappointed with outside noise in our room"

The walls in our room were very thin. We could hear our neighbour's quite clearly both nights of our stay, which made it hard to sleep, being woke up from our sleep & during the morning when they woke up. It was like they were in our room talking or yelling.

"Front desk staff gave my room key to another guest by mistake"

Only two front desk staff with a long line. No supervisor or manager onsite to resolve issues. Front desk didn't verify guest carefully enough and gave my booked room to another guest with a similar name. Consequences is that we thought the room key has issues and talked up engineers to fix the door, only realized that there are already guests in the room. What a drama! It wasted me 3 hours up and down the floors between room and front desk trying to fix the keys. Surprised no manager onsite to resolve issues like this and provide service recovery. No accountability! Terrible experience.
