"Best in town 10/10"

We stayed as a family for 5 nights to celebrate my daughter’s 4th Birthday. One word: Exceptional. I have read the other reviews, and myself have stayed in Marriotts across the world including Kingston, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Tokyo, UK and visited Singapore Marriott on multiple occasions. But, this property is very special. The entire team from front desk to engineering, housekeeping and restaurant are consistently providing a high level of service. Whether we were passing by, or requesting assistance or extra towels, nothing was too much trouble for the team and everyone always greeted us and ensured we had everything we needed for our entire stay. The room we had was phenomenal, with a view of the Empire State, superbly clean, excellent A/C and heating, convenient mini fridge and big shower area, perfect for our needs. And I have read the other reviews about the lifts being slow, and having stayed for 5 nights (6 days) we didn’t experience this, it was quick and only on a couple occasions slow to arrive, but naturally this is due to the high occupancy of the hotel so is totally understandable, plus we were in no rush as we were on vacation. We also used the laundry facilities, which you pay via an App and can purchase Detergent and softner for $1 each, was excellent. It helped us maximize our time as the App alerts you when it’s done !! Location is brilliant - 2 mins to Bryant Park, same for the Whole Foods Market and Starbucks, and a Chipotle and Joes Pizza about 5 mins walk. Times Square literally around the corner. We didn’t encounter any issues whilst we waited for taxis or just walking around, everyone was super friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again ! A big shout out to Vivian for bringing a smile to my daughters face every morning and your beautiful gift, Ian Morris for our chats about music and being a total legend, Miguel for always being super professional and his passion for Marriott shining through, and of course Ana who arranged a beautiful gift for my daughters birthday, we are truly grateful to you all and the entire team. Thank you for an awesome stay and see you all soon !

"Hospitality was so unexpectedly warm."

A positive experience with staff members at the Courtyard New York Marriott Manhattan/Times Square. Melvin, Ada and Ian were welcoming, interested and professional. Melvin was the first person to greet us at the front desk. He was gracious, helpful and efficient. Ada was working at the front desk as well but had no guests, so she turned her attention to helping us too. I applaud the teamwork! Between the two of them we felt seen and cared for. Ian was another friendly face and he made sure to ask if there was anything we needed each time we saw him. This is NYC and we felt part of the city because of our hotel stay. Yes, the location is super but even better the staff is excellent.

"Gem in the perfect spot!!"

Pros: amazing service from check in (Miguel was the best!), location is perfect- we walked up to Times Square, shops, rock, public library then down to empire. We loved coming back to our room to rest, it’s like an oasis in the crazy bustle of the city! Rooms are big for NYC. Bryant park always has something to do and restaurants are great. Just far enough from Times Square.

"Great stay"

Great stay at this location on W 40st. We arrived late around midnight. Check in was quick and easy. Attendant was ok but we received no information about the hotel/facilities. She only asked us to sign credit card form. Nothing else uttered. Spacious room. Not tiny box as some other NYC hotel rooms. No foul odors. Clean. Were a few soap scum stains within shower grout. Bleach may help with that, but overall very clean. The toilet is very low, just as other reviewers stated. There is a full shower door in our room on 10th floor. So the shower did not have a half door as others stated. Fridge was helpful to keep our food/drinks. We used microwave in lobby to warm leftovers. The toilet clogged once and engineering came within 15mins. Location is great! Towards left is Bryant park, turn right is Times Square/Theater district. We did not use their restaurant. Laundry washer and dryer was great, $3 each if I remember correctly. We felt safe night or day. But its NYC so be cautious. Bed was comfortable. Heat worked perfectly and kept us warm in January weather. Housekeeping did a great job cleaning our room. Door men were friendly and helpful. Elevators are busy but didnt take forever to come. Our view was of street and building next door. We will definitely stay again if the price is right!

Ian at the concierge desk is the nicest most accommodating person! He kept our bags, called for car service, gave us plenty of recommendations. Melvin at the front desk was also very nice and welcoming to us. Great location able to walk to a lot of attractions.
