"Overpriced, Uncomfortable, and Deceptive – Avoid!"

My stay at Hotel Edison was incredibly disappointing, and I’m honestly shocked by its four-star rating—it barely deserves two. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that comfort and guest satisfaction were not priorities. The biggest issue was the room’s unbearable climate. The bathroom heater was permanently on, making the entire space hot, damp, and humid. The air conditioner couldn’t counteract the heat, and to make matters worse, the windows were welded shut, eliminating any chance of fresh air. This made sleeping and relaxing nearly impossible. Service was equally frustrating. Staff knocked on my door constantly in the morning, disrupting any attempt at rest. The in-room phone didn’t work, meaning I had to physically find staff just to request basic necessities like tea or water, neither of which were restocked automatically. Want milk for your tea or coffee? That’ll cost you an extra $6. The lack of attentiveness and unnecessary fees were beyond frustrating. Hotel management was dismissive of complaints, insisting there was nothing they could do. The staff, for the most part, seemed uninterested and unwelcoming. Additionally, the so-called “buffet breakfast” was nothing more than a grab-and-go station with the same repetitive, carb-heavy options every day—completely misleading advertising. On top of all this, I was hit with a surprise $500 tax charge at check-in, which was never mentioned beforehand. Access to the elevators required staff approval, making guests feel more like intruders than valued customers. The entire experience felt unprofessional and unwelcoming. Hotel Edison fails in every crucial area—comfort, service, transparency, and hospitality. It is overpriced and poorly managed, and I strongly recommend avoiding it. There are far better options in NYC that actually care about their guests. Save your money and book elsewhere!

The room was very clean and fresh. I like the professionalism of the staff; they were also very helpful. The hotel is central in its location. Both restaurants on site have an extensive menu and the food was delectable. Thanks to all the staff that I have encountered; it was a great experience.

"Close to Times Square, VERY small bathroom"

Very close to Times Square, bathrooms are very small. The lighting was very dark and made 3 women getting ready a challenge. Overall would stay again, would just hope for a bigger bathroom. The Friedman restaurant inside the hotel was fantastic.

"We Love Hotel Edison!"

We loved our stay at Hotel Edison! The location was perfect. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff was super nice and helpful. There are two hotel restaurants & a bar. They were nice but a bit pricey, however you could go out either door and find great NY pizza just steps away at a reasonable price. We will definitely stay here again!

This hotel is amazing. The location is great and has a wonderful staff. I love their security and it does not take more than a minute to be in Times Square. You can walk to all the Broadway shows. 2 restaurants are on property and we loved the Grab And Go Breakfast.
