Good afternoon, I am writing to express my disappointment in my stay at your hotel. We came for Christmas and New Year from the 22nd of December 2024 to January 2nd 2025. Firstly, i would like to say a massive thank you to our cleaner Kwancheewa, she went above and beyond for us by cleaning our room, she gave us bottles of water to go out with if we passed on our way out, she was so friendly to us and our daughter and she really made the stay enjoyable with her kindness and hard work. Following, upon arrival at around 7pm we checked in at the self check in/out machines, then on the way up to the room I requested a cot/ crib put into our room. Around an hour after nothing had been brought up so I tried ringing multiple times to no answer. I then made my way downstairs to reception and again asked that we please have a cot, more time passed and at this point I was getting annoyed as we had been travelling for 24 hours and not slept and still didn’t have a cot brought up. I made my way down to reception again and asked (I repeated this cycle 2 more times), we finally received a cot at around 10:30pm. The next morning we went out and tried to pay for the hop on/off bus and the card was declined, checked our bank and we had been charged twice for our room, leaving us short of money for 2 days on our holiday! This was beyond and we were very irritated. Following this our safe broke in the room, every single day we went out i notified a member of staff that our safe had broke making it impossible for us to store our valuables safe when we went out. Only 20 minutes before we were due to check out on the 2nd of January did someone come to fix it!! As you're aware on NYE they shut off a majority of the blocks, we had to fight to get back into the hotel as we weren’t given wrist bands or anything to make it known we were hotel residents but we saw other guests who had these and got back into the hotel with ease, having our 1 year old daughter with us made this extremely frustrating and angered us even more about our current experience. These events were all extremely stressful and affected our stay and holiday. We decided to Dine in Friedman's one afternoon and we didn’t have anything off the hotel to get a discount in the restaurant. We were told as hotel guests we were supposed to have a discount for it but yet again we were missed out. We checked our booking information and it appeared we were put into the wrong room too. Our booking was supposed to have a desk and chair, tea/coffee maker and we had none of these in our room. I hope you read this and take in our complaints and for the price we paid, please improve so if we do visit again it’ll be a lot more of a pleasant visit.

"Great locations with some issues."

Great location that is less than a block away from Time Square and four musical and/or plays like Death becomes her, Hamilton, Our Town and Six. Wonderful staff at hotel and three restaurants, always willing to help out the handicap. Only bad items were dust in the room and no real room service. I has to go down stairs to get the food.

Hotel Edison is in a great location for walking to time square, a broadway show, or Rockefeller Center. There was plenty of staff and the hotel is clean and safe. They offered a convenient grab and go breakfast so we could start the day off fast.

"A brother's gift"

When I mentioned to my brother that we planned a NYC trip for a show, he promptly told us that he and his wife had often stayed at the Edison. It is located in the midst of the theater district, and he knew of a discount rate for after the holidays - we used it! Forget any rumors you have heard of surly New Yorkers; the front desk was friendly, the lobby staff helpful, and the doorman hailed us a cab when we left. Hotel rooms are hotel rooms, especially in big cities - there is room for the bed and dresser, and TV on the wall. A modest but clean bath, a closet with iron and safe - the usual. Don't look for seascape views in Manhattan, but the bed was comfy and the room was modern.

"Great Times Square hotel"

This location is perfect for a trip to see Broadway shows. It’s clean and feels safe and the beds are so comfortable. If you go in the winter, plan for your room to be very warm. The old heating system has a mind of its own so bring something light to wear in the room. If you get the “grab and go” breakfast included, it’s really good.
