"Don’t take a tour just get dropped off. Memorial tour is free admission"

We had a hire car and drove to the museum. There’s paid parking. You can book online but it said sold out. But we went to the desk and got on a standby list. They text you when there’s spots. We got one immediately. There’s a ferry boat takes you over and back. It’s all free for that and two museums- before the attack and the attack and a film also. All were great. We paid nothing. It was incredible. Very moving.

Because of the lack of clear information on how to experience this memorial we booked this as part of an organized tour of multiple local offerings. The boat ride to the memorial is not that comfortable because they use every available seat (and a couple of overflow seats) on the large shuttle. They allow you to visit the memorial for only as long as it takes for your boat to return and pick up the next group (about 15 minutes).
