"Good hotel with excellent location"

Good hotel with excellent location First the good 1) location, location, location… its excellent located 3 blocks to the beach and 3 blocks to the main shopping street in Honolulu 2) hotel is clean and modern 3) staff at check in are kind and comprehensive of their clients. We checked in at 5pm and one of our rooms wasn’t ready up until 8pm, the hotel had the decency of giving us a compensation by not charging resort fees for that room. 4) hotel has a nice convenience store at one side, and if you are diamond you can use $30 credit per day there. The bad 1) parking is available but only valet at the ridiculous price of $55 per day 2) hotel charges you a resort fee that is not worth it, but is mandatory for all rooms. They give you an umbrella and a chair and sun screen at the pool, but probably worth 1/3 of that they charge. 3) restaurant at the hotel has ridiculous expensive prices even for a hotel in Honolulu, pleas{ avoid it if you care about your wallet. 4) the pool should be heated at the price point, it’s colder than a mothers in law hug. I like this hotel much better that the Hilton scam resort at the beach, will definitely return here next time I am in Honolulu

Always love the Hilton brand. Exceptional service. Loved the rooftop pool! And the room was very clean and comfy. A trusted brand and I try to stick with it when I'm travelling. Close to shopping and very centrally located, a bit of a walk to the beach.

Dear Hotel Management, I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at Hilton Garden Inn. I am a regular guest at this hotel as I fly out multiple times a year for work. While my company chooses your hotel with high expectations based on reviews, reputation, and personal recommendation, I regret to say that my experience was tainted yet again! For the most part of my stay, the experience was wonderful. The front desk and bell service assist me when needed, the rooms are kept clean, and the location is a prime spot for Waikiki. A few things fall short such such as the valet service as it takes 45 minutes to retrieve a car on some busy days. However, the complaint I am providing is with the housekeeping services in the lobby. During my last stay, I was using the men’s restroom urinal when a female housekeeper came into the restroom unannounced. To my shock, she did not knock or give me any heads up before her entry. To make matters worse, she started cleaning and spraying next to the urinal that I was using!!! I had brought this up to hotel management and asked for her name which I believe was to be Josie. I understand mistakes happen and it was an awkward situation but the same incident happened again at my current stay with the same employee!!! I find this to be very unprofessional and frankly I feel very uncomfortable having to experience this, not once but TWICE! These issues not only affected my comfort but also left me with an overall negative impression of your hotel. I believe every guest deserves a high level of service and attention to detail, which I found diminished during my stay. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and address these concerns to improve your services. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to returning to the reputation that the Hilton Garden Inn upholds.

"Not coming back and wouldn't recommend at all"

The stars are for the cleaning staff who are always nice and clean the room well. As for the checking-in, reception staff, room, and parking fee, I couldn't say anything positive. 1) Online check-in. I received an email days before my reservation, and on the email was a link to download the Hilton app. I installed the app on my phone, and when I received the notice that I may go ahead and check-in online, I went ahead and checked in. I booked 2 separate rooms. The app showed that I was assigned to room 2055 and the other one on the 17th floor, but it says I have to see the hotel reception when I get to the hotel before the digital key can work. I arrived at the hotel at 2:30 pm, and the receptionist told me they gave both my rooms to other guests, so I had to wait until a room was available. When I asked why they did that, she said, "They took the liberty to assign us to rooms that are both on the same floor." They never informed me about that. It's good that they "took the liberty," but now she's assigning us rooms on the 10th floor. I asked if there was anything on a higher floor, and she said, "The 12th floor is the highest you can get if you want to keep your upgrade". Her attitude was very unwelcoming, and it was as if she was doing me a favor when, in fact, I was paying for the upgrade. She said the rooms won't be ready until 3:00 pm, which is fine. I told her we'd get a late lunch and return at 3:00 pm. We came back around 3:30 pm. The Filipino receptionist I spoke with prior was there, but she didn't even say anything like she could help us out. Another lady (older) helped me out, and this time, she said the other room was not yet ready. This was at 3:30 pm already, and they still don't have the room ready—total letdown. 2) Room - nothing special. The cabinet doors give out a loud creaking sound every time it's being opened/closed. So if you're trying to sleep and the other person in the room has to get something from the cabinet, be ready to be woken up by the loud creaking sound. 3) Hot water in the shower takes 5 or so minutes to get warm, and it doesn't stay warm. I had to shower at 6 a.m. on my first day, and the hot water only stayed on for a couple of minutes. I had to shower in cold water. This has been happening early in the morning almost every day. 4)This is our 4th night out of the 7 nights that we booked, and so far, I have only slept well for one night. And for the rest, I kept getting woken up by the constant opening of the service door very early in the morning. My room is right across the service room on the 14th floor, so every time employees have to go in and out of there, the noise can be heard from my room. The walls are too thin, so you hear everything—even the noise from the street. Not to mention the sound of the AC every time it turns back on. 5) The parking fee (valet) is now $55. Ridiculous. They don't give out a discount or anything. I read that others were given a hotel credit, I haven't had one and nobody mentioned it at the reception when I checked in. Not even the "complimentary gift" that you're supposed to claim within 24 hours after you check in. I guess they just expect you to read whatever paper/brochure they hand you. And since I only had the chance to check it, I guess I won't be able to claim whatever it is since it's past the 24 hours. Why can't they just leave it in your room? It is not a big deal, my point is, this place is not really a resort, not the typical hotel where you'll be greeted and treated like a guest. Reception staff just makes you feel like you're the one who owes them a favor.

The only complain is the prices ,when I tried to book for the end of this year...820 dolars a night! Very out of the good price I payed this year when booking early!
