Description

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a new play by Jack Thorne. It is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his head-strong youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

Prepare for a mind-blowing race through time, spectacular spells, and an epic battle, all brought to life with the most astonishing theatrical magic ever seen on a Broadway stage. "You’ll be wondering 'how'd they do that?' for days to come." (People Magazine).

Experience the wizarding world like never before from the moment you arrive. The entire theatre has been transformed, with hidden surprises to discover around every corner. "It's a marvel of imagination, as magical as any spell or potion." (The New York Times).

This show is approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, including intermission. Suitable for ages 8 and up. Children under the age of 5 are not permitted in the theatre.

We were pleasantly impressed with the theatrics of this show! One of the most entertaining shows we have seen without music.

As a huge Harry Potter fan, I wasn’t sure about this storyline! It never felt ‘right’ to me so I was dubious about going to watch the play. With that being said, I was pleasantly surprised! The acting was great; the music was enjoyable; the effects were (dare I say it) magical. The story was brought to life and my favourite person was Scorpio - the actor really brought him to life! I would recommend this to any Harry Potter fans.

My wife and I are fans of both Broadway and Harry Potter, so this was a must-see for us. I have to say, I was a little disappointed. Let's start with the good: The effects were INCREDIBLE! It really looked magical. Very impressive. The acting and choreography were also very impressive. However, I felt that the script was very dull. The story was boring, way too long, and the characters - some of the most beloved characters in the history of children's literature - were painfully shallow and undeveloped. I do have to hand it to them, though: I was not expecting the plot twist towards the end (I won't reveal it here), that came out of nowhere. The rest of the story, however, was very dull and predictable. That said, the play was entertaining and I'm glad I went. As a fan of Harry Potter, I had to go check out this performance, but I certainly would not go see it again.

Is a story of Harry’s son that have issues with harry, then Harry’s son meets Malfoy son and they start an adventure together where at the end finds them filling in love. I really don’t understand what the falling in love part has to do with the story of Harry Potter.

They play was really good! I thought it was well worth it & my younger kid liked it as well. My only advice is to be careful of the steps. They're not the biggest & could cause you to tumble.
