"Bring back the avocado toast!"

We come into the city 5+ times a year and always try to stay here - location is amazing and rates are reasonable except for a few crazy weekends. We love how close to Grand Central and Penn Station the hotel is, not to mention Times Square literally around the corner. The rooms are clean even though the beds are not very comfortable, but we only stay one night so that’s ok. We always enjoy the hotel bar upon arrival and before dinner, but the bartenders tend to be inattentive and they should really focus more on the customers. Having to wave down staff to order another drink is not cool - that happens a lot unfortunately. I do have one other legitimate complaint and it’s sorta minor but super disappointing and frustrating. The breakfast menu includes avocado toast which I have eaten a few times and is amazing. I literally look forward to it every trip. My last 4 times here (going back to early 2024) they did not have it, yet it is still on the menu. Once I was told they ran out. Once I was told another customer just ordered the last one. This trip, my hubby and I actually joked the whole time about whether the toast would be available or not - that is how good it is. At breakfast I ordered it, and 5 min later the waiter reports they don’t have it - but confirms it is still on the menu. I was so bummed, I didn’t even enjoy my omelette after that. I told this story to the waiter who was very accommodating and offered me other toast from the buffet, and he ended up giving me a 20% discount. I really appreciated that - very nice gesture- though it wasn’t necessary. What I would like in the future is to return here (I am booked in April) and find they actually have their delicious avocado toast AVAILABLE. I can understand running out on occasion, but to not have this 4 separate trips spanning a year is suspicious. If you don’t serve it anymore, please take it off the menu. I also want to callout the front desk staff who were super friendly, polite and helpful. Thank you for another great trip, see you in April.

"Their teams customer service is this locations saving grace while in renovations"

Came to NYC to celebrate a friend’s birthday While the accommodations need a major upgrade (they are under construction) The customer service is stellar from check in to check out my stay was amazing Michelle was extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond on multiple occasions like going out of her way to bring me water to my room when I desperately needed it but was unable to come to the lobby. Her kindness and great customer service was the touch mark of my stay breakfast and service was amazing and really made up for the shabbiness of the location I’ll be back post Reno

First, the location of this hotel is very good. It's less than a block from Bryant Park and 5th avenue, right about the spot where all the "fancy" shopping starts. It's just a bit further to Times Square proper, but still no more than 4 minutes or so. If you're in New York for shows, MoMa and other things in that area...I do recommend this hotel. The actual block it is on is decently quiet, but you are very near lots of good stuff. We were here in December, and the Bryant Park Christmas market was in full swing and we could get there in 2 minutes. It does not include breakfast. There is a HUGELY overpriced little restaurant that has pretty mediocre breakfast and a very uninspired breakfast buffet. We had bought a "package" that included breakfast, but in retrospect, I wish we had passed on that and just gone to a nearby McDonald's! The room itself was very nice. We were near the top and on a corner, but this was no ordinary corner. Lots of twists and angles in the wall, meaning an unusual shape to the room, but for a small space, it felt very upscale and well designed. There was certainly some luck of the draw in the space we got, but the amenities were all nice, bedding was comfortable, water was hot, TV was decent sized and all-in-all, it was a great space. Yes, it's expensive. But for NYC, it's actually "reasonable" and for the nice room and good location, we were very happy with our choice. Again, in almost any other city, this would be outrageously expensive, but the taxes NYC has on its hotel rooms now are close to what I'd pay for a full hotel room in a smaller city! (This is one of those hotels that doesn't actually start until you're about 6 flights up. You go into a little lobby, where a security guard greets you, then grab an elevator to the lobby level. The security guards usually had earbuds in and were playing on their phones...but they weren't totally rude. The front desk staff was marginally polite, which is about what one expects from hotel staff these days, unfortunately.)

Perfect location and walking distance of all the main events in Times Square. Small hotel, small rooms, but service was outstanding. Michelle at the front desk helped us on more than one occasion and went above and beyond. Thank you, Michelle, for making it an extra special trip!
