"We will be back!"

Great location, very clean, delicious breakfast, amazing staff. From check in to check out we were very pleased with our decision to stay here. Walking distance to Broadway, Times Square, Central Park and Grand Central Station. Easy access to the subway. We were on the 26th floor. Elevators were quick to take us to the lobby or ground floor. Could see a glimpse of Times Square. Hot shower with excellent water pressure. Comfy beds, but could have used an extra pillow. Very quiet, almost no road noise.

So I went to New York for a dress sale and did not get a hotel prior to going. I ended up looking at several hotels before choosing this Hilton and I’m glad I did because the room was great the staff was amazing especially Michelle. She was there at the front desk when I checked out she was amazing sweet kind and definitely made this my favorite hotel.

I just completed another amazing stay at this hotel. Although I enjoy trying different hotels when I visit NYC, I have come back to this hotel a few times, primarily because of the location, amazing staff, and modern rooms. First, the amazing staff at this hotel are friendly, helpful, and competent. They were able to get me into a great room with an awesome view, and confirmed my breakfast choices and how I can spend my daily resort credit. Anytime I walked by the front desk, they were friendly and greeted me with a smile. Big shout out to Ibeth and Michelle at the front desk for being so awesome!!! The rooms are modern and functional. Of course they are on the small side, but it's New York City! My room was a corner room, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over 42nd street and Times Square. I never closed the blinds as I enjoyed the views during the day and at night. The bathroom was clean and neat, with a nice modern stand-up shower, which I always prefer over a tub/shower combo. The on-site restaurant is very good, with either a breakfast buffet with multiple hot and cold options, or you can order off the menu. Both options were satisfactory. Elevators were mostly fast and efficient, except for a few of the "peak" times where they were a bit full and had to pass by a few folks because they were full. But all high-rise hotels in NYC have this same issue, so it's not just this property. The location of this hotel is awesome! You are steps from world-famous Times Square, with the theaters, restaurants, and other fun stuff to do. You can walk easily to Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, and other mid-town attractions. The subway is steps from the hotel entrance, that can take you anywhere in NYC that you want to go for a $3 fare. In summary, I would stay here again, especially if I get a decent rate for a Times Square hotel. The staff alone make it a great choice!

"AVOID!!"

FTER checking in on April 2, 2025, the front desk person asked if I was aware of the hotel's elevator problems. "We've had a flood," she said. "You'll have to call the front desk when you need the elevator." She then handed me a key card for my room on the 22nd Floor. I made it up to the room OK as there just at that moment happened to be an elevator available in the lobby, with an operator. But when it came time to go out... well. The room telephone didn't work, nor did the house phone by the elevators. Other 22nd floor guests were waiting at the elevators when I came out and told me they'd been waiting 15 minutes already. I waited about 10 minutes, gave up and walked down 22 flights so as not to miss my dinner reservation. I complained at the front desk but was stonewalled, as I'm sure the people there were being swamped with complaints. I ended up not going back to the hotel after dinner to avoid another 22-story descent or worse, a 22-story ascent if I wasn't lucky enough to catch a lobby elevator again. What the hotel should've done: emailed or texted everyone with a reservation to let them know of the problem AHEAD OF ARRIVAL (and NOT after check-in) and offered accommodation at another of Hilton's many Manhattan properties with working elevators. Very poor handling of the situation and, although I've stayed at this hotel many times in the past year due to its proximity to a venue I frequent, I will NOT be staying there again. BTW, even when the elevators function normally the service is poor because the hotel lacks a service elevator, so guest elevators are frequently in use by staff, causing delays. I made a point of booking rooms no higher than the third floor to avoid the elevators.

"Service Made The Stay Even Better!!!"

It been seven years since I had last visited New York City. Prior to that I had been a regular visitor to New York City. For this visit, me and a friend had tickets to see two Broadway shows, and we wanted to hotel close to the theaters and places to eat afterwards. Hilton Garden Inn Times Square proved a perfect choice. Convenient to the theaters and to the restaurants for which we had reservations. The hotel proved not only convenient, but a delight. What made the hotel a delight was some of the staff members. In particular I would like to offer a "shout out" to the morning staff at Paul's in particular my young male server, who regretfully I didn't get his name. But he was extremely polite and attentive. And I would also like to offer a major "shout out" to Michelle, who worked at the front desk. In addition to being excellent and always ahead of me, she was funny and delightful in both my check-in and check out and always acknowledged me whenever she saw me. It service like this that make a hotel experience just a bit more special.
