We were hard pressed to fill one hour of the day here. We saw everything in about 25 minutes then went through again since we had driven here and invested in tickets. It's all for a worthy cause I get it and the exhibits were good, but half the place is closed for renovation and there is just not a lot to see. I'm sure when its in full swing its good but as of March 2025, it's a hard no for us.

There is major renovation going on. While this is noted on the website, visitors are not warned on site so if you did not check the website in advance you are going to be charged a full price which for a family of three amounts to nearly 100$. This gives you access to a small portion of the aquariaum, which appears neglected and in bad shape. Even the volunteers seemed bored and uninterested. We recommend to skip Birch and instead head to Chula Vista to visit The Living Coast Discovery Center for an interesting, clean and truly local experience.

"Don't waste your time or your money. There are way better aquariums to be gone to than this"

This was a total disappointment, we're from Canada. This is very expensive for what there is to see. It was almost a hundred dollars Canadian for 3 adults. There was barely nothing to see. We went through the whole thing in less than 30 minutes. Part of it was closed. I went to the guest services and asked for a partial refund, and I was refused. I would never come back here. Don't waste your money. The aquarium at the mandelay bay in las vegas was way better than this.

Visited on Thanksgiving day and it was quite busy surprisingly. It was good as always, a staple of visiting long beach that's for sure. The exhibits are well maintained and the animals well cared for, everything is clean, the only downside is the price and not having a lot of places to sit down and watch the fish swim by.
