Description

Approximately one million acres at the West Rim are privately owned by the Hualapai Indians, offering a serene and nature-focused experience distinct from that of the South Rim. The Hualapai proudly share their native history through various displays at the Grand Canyon West Rim. Optional additions to the tour, such as the Skywalk or a helicopter ride, are available for an extra charge.

The tour includes a brief 10-15 minute stop at Hoover Dam for photographs and a comfort stop at a gas station for 15-20 minutes. The journey continues through the Joshua Tree Forest before arriving at the Grand Canyon West Rim, where three hours are provided to explore and sightsee.

A hot breakfast at IHOP and unlimited bottled water on the bus are included, along with a hot lunch at either the Skyview Restaurant, Skywalk Café, or Guano Point. The Grand Canyon West Rim offers a convenient hop-on-hop-off shuttle system that operates continuously. However, if a permit is secured (only seven permits are granted daily), the driver may be able to take the bus inside the canyon, bypassing the need for shuttles. The driver will provide details on where and when to meet the bus after each stop. For those wishing to stay longer at Eagle Point, the West Rim shuttle can be used to travel to Guano Point to meet the bus for the return to Las Vegas.

At Guano Point, enjoy views from the edge of the canyon and interact with tribal members offering Native American jewelry and crafts made from jewels and rocks from the canyon. A short, safe hike allows for exploration of remnants of a historic tram and guano mine.

At Eagle Point, experience the Native American Village, which features dwellings depicting multiple tribes. The amphitheater offers continuous performances throughout the day. For an additional charge, the Skywalk, a glass bridge managed by the Hualapai Indians, provides the experience of walking 4,000 feet above the canyon floor. This horseshoe-shaped steel structure with a glass floor and sides extends about 70 feet (21 meters) from the canyon rim.

West Rim Tour with Skywalk Option:
Experience the majestic wonders of the Grand Canyon West Rim while standing on the “glass bridge.” The Skywalk is a U-shaped glass bridge that extends 70 feet beyond the rim of the Grand Canyon giving visitors a full view of the 4,000-foot drop to the Colorado River below.
