"Desert stargazing tour"

The trip we took was billed as "Arizona Stargazing Tour with Night Vision." POSITIVES: We definitely saw stars out in the desert and were instructed by an extremely knowledgeable astronomer (Aaron? Erin?) with a powerful telescope. The views of the night sky were fantastic. The ride out and back were also fun in a rugged desert vehicle, driven by Brian who was well versed in local lore. However, although the stargazing was fascinating, there seemed to be no set program and it ended after a couple hours when the guide seemed to run out of things to tell us. NEGATIVES: Night vision opps were promised but we had to ask for the devices to be brought out of the truck. (Likewise, snacks and water were promised, but only water was ever offered.) A little more information on the surrounding beautiful night desert would have been welcome. But the biggest negative was the extremely high price for what was provided.
