"great zoo"

Such a great zoo to explore while in Phoenix. We had breakfast at one of the onsite restaurants and it was reasonably priced and delicious. All the animals were out and active which was great to see. All of the water mists throughout the zoo during the hot summer days were a definite bonus. Definitely be ready to do a lot of walking as we didn't want to miss anything and ended up doubling back to see our favorite animals.

"avoid it in july"

Of course it was hot, but quite 40€ each to see quite nothing (less than 10 animals) and many many places closed. And must add 6€ to have a ride, it's a shame !!!!! You must below the prices in july. We will never come back

All was great but it was truly sad to see the chimps with no space at all. I am no expert and I may be wrong but they looked extremely sad. We left feeling really sad for the Chimps.

"Great experience for the family"

This is not one of the top ranked zoos in the United States. Not quite in the same league as the San Diego zoo. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a very enjoyable day for the family, this is a great place to go for a family. Children younger than 15 will particularly enjoy it. An adult ticket cost $38 and a child is $28. So a family of five could run to approximately $170. Nevertheless, this is an all day activity and significantly cheaper than Disneyland. And you will get a great deal of exercise walking around the zoo. This is a very spacious zoo and you get to cover a great deal of territory. They was a pretty good assortment of animals here. Three lions, a leopard, at least one elephant, and plenty of monkeys. There was also a rhino and camels. Speaking of camels, the camel ride is very popular. Eight dollars per person but the kids will really enjoy it. There is a shut to take you around the zoo, but that will cost you extra. At least eight dollars. Free parking are not too far from the entrance. The gift shop is OK but nothing to write home about. All in all a very enjoyable experience. A very good family activity if you live in or are visiting Phoenix or nearby, Scottsdale.

"Pleasant zoo- not a destination"

We have visited many zoos. This is a solid regional zoo experience. Animals seem well cared for and typical conservation messaging. However there aren’t a huge variety of animals and I wouldn’t consider it a destination zoo as I would several other big city zoos. Nonetheless it was a nice enough way to spend 3 or 4 hours outside

"Beautiful location"

This zoo is in a beautiful location. It has several different ponds in the surrounding areas. The zoo itself is not very big. Entrance is about $40 for adults and $30 for children 3 and up. Once you’re inside. They nickel and dime you for everything else. I paid $6 a person for the ride around the park. It was pretty useless as they don’t stop to let you see the animals. If you’re not paying attention you miss it. It was $5 a person to pet the stingrays and more if you want to feed them. $3 a kid for the carousel. $10 for a soda and chips. By the time I left I had spent over $100 easy and didn’t really see many animals.

Fun, but very expensive gift shop. Don’t suggest buying anything here. Lots of animals and great for little children. There’s a carousel for little kids and a playground being built on premises. Some cages are an incredibly small for there animals, some are bigger though. Not a great environment for older kids.
