The location is superb, however it was under construction as of March 2025 and the restaurant/ bar is not open. We stayed in the corner room and the view was breathtaking. Surrounded by subway entrances and right across the street from the Oculus

Of all the spots we’ve stayed in NYC we liked this the most, because 1) the rooms (and hallways) were stylishly refurbished, fluffy thick piled carpets, new bathroom suites, fabulous fall asleep straight away pillows & beds, superb (- just put more tea bags into the rooms please); 2) the VIEW, wowzers, it was stunning and the sunsets, sunrise reflections and the incredibly clear days we enjoyed (however freezing) dry weather with clear blue skies made it stand out; 3) accessibility to many subway lines, water front, bridges, sights, Ground Zero being on the same street, everything easy reach, Times Square, Broadway (Hamilton 10/10) , Central Park MET, FAO Swartz, Brooklyn, Chelsea, Greenwich Village all totally 10-15 mins away. Masses of shopping opportunities in the Ground Zero area opposite too, if you like shopping Pravda - Nike plus all. Don’t miss out on the Eataly Food Hall, superior to our Waitrose in the UK, but not quite Fortnums tho. What else, the Hotel actual entrance foyer is a temporary affair, (due to major refurbishments, which we guessed were happening, as no one actually tells you this) which is a big shame, poor signage, and as no one indicates what is going on, you don’t know where to go, or where the reception desk is located, although the door people, concierge are polite and helpful in a hands off distant way; we only noticed that a restaurant existed on floor 3, sadly to late we were leaving by this time. Can’t praise this hotel enough, we will come again, we look forward to entering and being welcomed through your new foyer soon. If you are booking make sure you reserve a newly refurbished room though!

William at the front desk made our stay incredible!! The room was beautiful, the view was amazing. Wish they had a restaurant in the building but luckily there is plenty around the hotel. Really enjoyed that part of the city too, less hectic than the rest of Manhattan. Will absolutely stay there again.

"Shoutout to Tim, the best staff at Millenium Downtown New York"
TripAdvisor user rating 5.0 out of 5

I’m writing this review to express my utmost gratitude to one of the hotel staff Tim (head of security). I ordered a parcel to be delivered to the hotel however, when my partner was at the hotel to collect it, they couldn’t find the parcel. For few days he was there but they still couldn’t find the parcel and he had to check out without collecting the parcel, I was extremely worried and concerned because the seller was absolutely sure that they have sent it over to the hotel and it was delivered by the post office. For so many days, I had to keep making long distance calls the hotel (I live in Singapore) to check if they had found it but every time they said no. Finally, Tim helped me to really check and search the store room thoroughly and found my package. It was such a relief! But I told him I won’t be coming to New York anytime soon. He assured me that he would keep the parcel for me until my next visit which I was so grateful, Few months later, my work finally brought me to New York and I told Tim that I was coming, He told me that he had the parcel safe with him awaiting my arrival. When I arrived, Tim personally handed the parcel to me. I was so thankful for his kindness. He is such a great person and a great asset to the hotel. Thanks a million, Tim for your kind assistance and wonderful service!

Rooms are excellent, service also excellent but overall William on the front desk has been outstanding. He is attentive, friendly and basically bent over backwards to ensure we have the best stay.
