"INCREDIBLE WASTE OF MONEY AND SO DISAPPOINTING FOR MY KIDS"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

I tried to give zero stars but Our family just had a horribly disappointing experience here. We saved for one last end of summer outing and chose Hurricane Harbor. In addition to myself and my husband, we brought my son, his friend and my niece. After paying, I realized that I had been overcharged. I immediately went to member services to discuss this and the young man explained that while prices online are $29.99, if you pay in person the price is $49.99. I asked if he could void our tickets so I could pay the online price as we had just arrived and I quickly caught the oversight and he said he could not. I ended up paying exactly $325.75 for the 5 of us. I recognize this was my mistake and had to accept paying well over what we had budgeted for. Shortly after arriving, our kids decided they were hungry. I went to the cafe to get food while my husband went to get inner tubes. The cost for our over priced food and drinks came out to $154.85 and because there weren't any of the cheaper 2 person inner tubes available, we paid $43.44 for 4 separate inner tubes. As the kids are eating, we notice that the staff was stacking chairs and redirecting kids away from the slides. At this time my husband asked a staff member if the slide was being closed and he explained THE ENTIRE WATER PARK CLOSES AT 5. MY FAMILY AND I ARRIVED JUST BEFORE 4PM. NOT A SINGLE STAFF MEMBER HAD THE CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING TO ALERT US TO THE FACT THAT THE PARK WAS SOON CLOSING SO WE WOULDNT WASTE OUR MONEY WHEN WE ARRIVED. Your associate charged me full price tickets knowing that we wouldn't have any play time??!!? The young man working member services never alerted me that while I was wasting my time discussing what I was charged, that the park was closing very soon. The attendant that rented my husband the 4 inner tubes should have advised "don't bother renting these, we're about to close". NOT ONE SINGLE WATERPARK ASSOCIATE HAD THE CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING TO PREVENT MY FAMILY FROM SPENDING A TOTAL OF $523.95 WITH LESS THAN AN HOUR FROM CLOSING. I understand your associates are young and this may be their first job but telling your customers that the hours have changed upon arrival is a bare minimum expectation. I am not only disgusted by the amount of money we WASTED at your park for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but I am equally disgusted by how disappointed my kids left that day and in tears. $500 may not be alot of money to some but it is a huge amount of money to my family and considering that they never even got to play in the park is just unfathomable. I will tell any and everyone I can about this experience. What a terrible failure of communication to your customers on every level. You do not care about your customers.

"Do NOT waste your money!!"

Worst, most disgusting place ever! Please do not waste your money. Nothing worked - even tha main wave pool, the bathrooms literally had poop all over, we ordered food on the app and after waiting for 90 minutes we discovered it hadn't been cooked yet because "there was no one in the back to cook all the food". Every place was out of ice and the soda machines weren't working. BAD PLACE!!!

"Go to any other water park in town."

That was my first and last trip to this water park. I thought i'd give it a try because i live in North Phoenix... Sun Splash in Mesa is superior in every way and i'm sad i didn't just drive the extra 15 minutes to get there. Starting with the 27 dollars you get hit with when you pull up just to park at the facility. Seriously? when i'm spending well over 100 dollars just to walk through the front door I get charged nearly 30 dollars to park. If i hadn't already spent my money online (plus a 10 dollar convenience fee for the privilege of doing all the ticket buying work myself) for passes i would have turned around and gone anywhere else right then. Then there was the waterslides that require tubes to ride that apparently there only only 2-3 community use tubes thus attempting to force people that have already been overcharged by the time they walk through the front door to also buy rental tubes so they don't have to stand in line for an appalling amount of time to enjoy the rides. For me and my kid, we gave up on the waterslide after waiting with about 20 other people for nearly 30 minutes and advancing to only being 12 people back. Other attractions closed and not running for whatever reason. Overall the park was lackluster and nothing special as far as rides go... again, Sunsplash on the other side of town is superior and has pretty much anything this place has and more other than a water version of the old carnival fun slide ride that my 8 year old liked and was the only thing that seemed to run with any level of speed. The only reason it even got 2 stars is because my 8 year old enjoyed being able to swim/float the lazy river (which is truth is some thing they likely allow just because they don't have enough tubes for it either) and he liked the slide ride... but myself and my teenager were completely unimpressed with most anything there.

"My very very honest 2024 review of Hurricane Harbor Phoenix"

The waterpark is genuinely fun in a way.. or well, that's IF you don't spend all day waiting in lines for rides. First, the metal detectors near the entrance are beyond useless. Made us throw away our water because "they don't know it's water", bull, instead they gave us water bottles inside that tasted like toilet water which wasn't even worth drinking after a bit. What's even the point of the machine if you guys cannot keep smokers out?? I don't want to smell pot near the giant playground full of kids. The lockers on the side are pricey, but it's whatever. The pool with the "waves" is fun/enjoyable if you are there to chill or you have friends over. I see they finally fixed the gross-ness out of the lazy river as it is cleaner and more open than the past years. However, more issues grow. Because Six flags LOVEEE their rain of money as they have removed the free floaties coming with the ride and instead packed up with rental floaties. LIKE A GOD AWFUL LOT OF RENTALS. Like?? This means you HAVE to buy the rentals worth $10-12 (without passes) or else you have to wait for an hour or more for 1 free floatie out of the total 5-6 free floaties within that ride to be handed over to you. Totally forgot to mention but isn't Arizona like.. ONE OF THE HOTTEST STATES EVER?? If you have no one but yourself in line and you need a break of water, tough luck then. Also, the magical feeling to the place has been gone for a while. Everything is discolored, rusty, and broken down; it does not look the same as the pictures online unfortunately. Poor baby waby Six Flags cannot spend their few thousands of dollars to actually fix up the place during the fall because thats a HUGEE SPENDING on their side, oh nono don't you even DAREEE ask for such a BIGG task like that 🥺. Also I find it hideous that people are willing to spend $17 dollars on a normal sized pizza slice (and yes I understand they may not have a choice) but its crazy how you can get a bigger pizza slice for like $4 dollars at costco. CAPITALISM AM I RIGHT 🤪🤪. Food is expensive and way too little to actually feed an adult human. **SIX FLAGS, HOW ABOUT YOU INVEST SOME OF YOUR MONEY TO FIX STUFF UP RATHER THAN GIVING THE BARE MINIMUM AND ASKING SO MUCH FROM US BECAUSE YOU WANNA APPEAL TO SHAREHOLDERS - I'D BE SURPRISED IF YOU GOT ANY WITH THIS CRAPPY AHH PLACE YOU BOUGHT OFF THAT WAS BETTER OFF BEFORE YOU🤣🤣🤣**
