We had no expectations of this place and wow did it blow us away. You can touch literally every animal there. Our daughter touched a python, sloth, bunny and alpaca to name a few. There is also a feeding option where you can top up a card with credit to feed animals. Our daughter had a great time and it was such a fun experience for us. My husband got to feed and pet a lemur, his favorite animal!

"Good Day Out"

Took my elderly Mom here for a day out. We spent about 2 hours here and really enjoyed it. This is a small establishment with a variety of animals with which you can get up close and personal. The animals looked healthy, with clean enclosures. While it was a busy Saturday, it wasn’t any more crowded than going to large, Houston zoo. Families with small children would probably appreciate a smaller, more intimate experience rather than a huge zoo. The staff was friendly and helpful.

So sad. Animals kept in very poor conditions, the habitats are awful. They are minimally provided for and it is apparent they are just there for money. This place needs to do WAY better or give the animals to someone or some place that can

"Warning for Field Trips!"
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5
Reviewed March 15, 2024
WARNING FOR ANYONE BOOKING A FIELD TRIP!!! First let me say that I am giving 2 stars ONLY because of the Event Coordinator here, Aimee. She straight up LIED to our faces and claimed that they tried to reschedule our trip, but we gave a transportation excuse- which was not true. There was NEVER any contact from them and they never tried to reschedule. They also LIED and said that our bus drivers ignored them and went to a different parking lot- which was not true. Our drivers were literally directed and taken to a further parking area which caused the issues we faced. We booked our field trip here recently and the trip itself was great- the aquarium was clean, the kids had an easy time going around and seeing the animals. Staff around the park was friendly and helpful. Overall everything went smoothly at first and our kids were great. We even got compliments from regular visitors on how well behaved and managed our classes were. At one point, Aimee came up and spoke to a teacher about how we came at a busy time and there were suggestions on days in the future that would have been better, and she apologized for the crazy of it being Spring Break - all fine and no problem. She was told it was actually great for us and we were having no issues. However, when it came time for us to leave, we were directed to the front entrance and they told us they were going to go get in their golf carts to go notify our bus drivers since they had our drivers park in a further location. So we waited....and waited....and waited. In fact, we ended up sitting and waiting in the front parking lot, near cars driving through, with 90 kindergarteners for an hour! And why so long? Because our bus drivers were stuck in the parking lot and the parking attendees were not helping them get out! When the drivers called the staff and asked for help getting out, they were pretty much told it was our fault and we wouldn't be allowed to return! THEN, Aimee proceeded to walk around and insult our parents and teachers! Telling one parent and her husband that 'You will never be allowed to come here and do this again to us" Meaning- having a field trip during a time that they were busy. Apparently she was so mad that our school chose to come during a time that other districts are on Spring Break. Our district is not on Spring Break at this time and they allowed us to book with them with no problem! They never once expressed concern over this being a busy time and that is not our fault. Of course Aimee LIED and said they tried to reschedule with us- which she did not. We had other parents complain that she went up to them and said this is all of your fault that your buses are stuck-and your drivers and teachers are at fault. Basically yelling at anyone she could. She then eventually ghosted us and refused to give us the complimentary tickets we were promised as part of our field trip package. When a parent went inside to ask to speak to a manager about how everyone was being treated, the staff refused and would not even give her a name. One of our TEACHERS and PARENTS had to eventually go over to the parking lot and direct traffic for them in order to get our buses out and we were an hour late returning to school. The sad thing too is that this woman's terrible and unprofessional behavior was pretty much excused when their manager was called, saying that although they frequently have issues with her, she does so much for their business. This was our first and LAST field trip here- After 11 years of doing field trips, we have NEVER been treated like this. There were so many better ways that this could have been handled. It doesn't take much to be professional and kind and everything could have been figured out. Parents, teachers, and our bus drivers were appalled by how this woman treated everyone. It really cast a dark shadow over our whole day and ruined what should have been a good memory.
