"Not worth the money"

I'm not a foodie. But I am giving this luau a one star review mainly because of how bad the food and drinks were. I figured they were going to be really good since this luau was so expensive compared to others . I guess it was just costly because of being at the Grand Wailea. If the guests who stay there are getting this same quality of food and drinks, I'd be amazed. The Mai Tai I tried tasted like the cheap store brand and the Pina colada I tried tasted like something in it had gone bad. The only food I liked was the poke and the macaroni salad ( which I don't usually like) Everything else I tried tasted bland or bad. I went to a luau two years ago that was held at a plantation nearby and the food and drinks were fantastic. It was a third of the price of this one and had a longer dance show. This one had a lot of music but not that much dancing. I really wish I had picked any other luau than this one or just gone to a nice dinner at a nice restaurant with nice views.

We were staying next door so easy walk to the luau. Beautiful ground and setting right on the beach. The food was really good and plentiful. The pork and poke were awesome. We liked that the show was during dinner. Nice open bar. A bit pricey but overall a good experience.

"Nice luau but could use some improvement"

While the luau was overall good, I was expecting a bit more. Especially from the fire part. I had been debating booking OLL and went with this because thought the kids would enjoy the fire show. It was nice but short to meet my expectations. This luau has all private tables so you just sit with your group, which is nice. Our server was excellent - Desiree was her name. Part of our group was vegetarian, which they accommodated for, however the vegetarians said the food was not good and bland. The meat portion consisted of chicken, steak, fish and pulled pork. The pulled pork was by far the best. Chicken was decent. Steak was chewy and fish was bland. Beautiful sunset views from the location. Overall gave this 3-star because parts of it were nice, but could have been better given this is supposed to be a 5-star location.

We thought the food would be amazing and it was just ok. The show was fun and the performers on point, but the best thing was an open beer bar. It was $$$ for what we received.

"Nice but pricy."

The facilities are top notch and beautiful. However, all the extraneous charges are enough to ruin your stay, including a daily resort charge of $50 which is in addition to your room and an astonishing $65/per day valet parking fee which doesn't include tip. Add to that Hawaii's 19% taxes.
