"Disappointing Stay at Fairmont Dallas – A Decline in Standards"

Disappointing Stay at Fairmont Dallas – A Decline in Standards We are (or were) loyal Fairmont customers, having stayed at four Fairmont properties in the past two years alone. Fairmont has always been our go-to choice when traveling because of its reputation for luxury, comfort, and impeccable service. Unfortunately, after our recent stay at Fairmont Dallas, we will be much more discerning about choosing Fairmont in the future. From the start, the experience fell far short of Fairmont’s usual standards. The hotel is known for its comfortable beds, but we both slept terribly each night — the mattress and bedding were nowhere near as comfortable as what we’ve experienced at other Fairmont properties. The towels were rough and heavily worn, feeling more like exfoliating cloths than luxury hotel linens. Upon check-in, we immediately noticed a piece of chewed gum stuck to the wall — an unpleasant and unsanitary detail that reflects a lack of attention to cleanliness. The air vents in our room were visibly covered with dust, and the toilet groaned and creaked loudly when used. The paint in both the room and bathroom was chipped significantly, giving the room a worn and neglected feel. Service was inconsistent and disappointing. Despite staying on the Gold Floor, our room wasn’t cleaned between 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM while we were out. We had to call and specifically request that it be cleaned — something we expected to be prioritized at this level of service. When we requested an extra blanket, the one delivered had a large ripped corner, which was surprising and unacceptable for a Fairmont. To make matters worse, the pool was closed during our stay, and we were never notified in advance. Additionally, the lobby and bar were overwhelmed with a strong perfume scent that made it difficult to sit and enjoy a drink without feeling nauseous. It’s hard to ignore the overall feeling that this property is in decline — whether they are remodeling, selling, or simply mismanaging the property, it’s clear they need to figure it out immediately before they permanently damage the Fairmont brand. We were so disappointed by the experience that we decided to cut our vacation short and leave early — something we’ve never done before at a Fairmont. This was not the luxurious, relaxing experience we expected, and it’s left us seriously reconsidering our loyalty to the Fairmont brand.

"Ok hotel in great location"

The rooms in this hotel are dated although clean and functional . Our shower gel and coffee creamers weren’t replaced even after asking at reception. The elevators are not sufficient for the number of guests. We waited up to 20 minutes for an elevator that was not full. Hotel is in a great location.

"DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL"

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL Very expensive hotel for no SERVICE( no help at the reception whatsoever for tips, luggage ), I stayed 4 nights and my room was only cleaned once……..do not forget to clean under the bed and furniture Everything was paid but 400 dollars were blocked : what are they afraid about? The woman at the reception was colder than Siberia. The room needs to be redone: extremely noisy heater which doesn’t work properly…. WiFi doesn’t work properly, very very slow and many interruptions and LAST but not LEAST: no soap this morning as nobody came to check …. Forget this Hôtel that that might have been four stars but now the only thing that it has 4 stars is the price …

"Hard Fail"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

If you are an experienced traveler and understand everything the Fairmont name normally carries with it, you will be sorely disappointed by this property. I stayed here many years ago and it was an elegant, tier one hotel. Now I'm sad to say it has lost all of its lustre. I was given a room on the top floor - the penthouse - and it was a joke. Basic essentials were missing. No bathmat. The shower had almost zero water pressure. There was a total of ONE accessible AC outlet at the bedside and it DIDN'T WORK. I have stayed at budget motels that out-classed this room for basic amenities. Of course the lobby lounge was elegant as ever and eagerly charged me $20 for a drink but the rooms were a different story. If you're getting a good deal to stay at this hotel, just remember that the elegant feel doesn't extend past the lobby. Hard fail. Don't say I didn't warn you.
