Description

The Branson Dinosaur Museum has been designed with the young (and young-at-heart) in mind! This educational museum brings dinosaur fans up-close-and-personal. Over 45 life-sized dinosaurs are displayed, from the very smallest creature, a 1-foot Microraptor, to the towering 42-foot tyrannosaurus rex that stands about two stories high. The models were made by paleo-artists who fashioned molds from the original dinosaur skeletons and then created the bodies.

All of the dinosaurs have descriptive details and visitors may take as long as they like on the self-guided tour. Pictures are encouraged. There is a learning center with video, a fossil exhibit, and gift shop as well.

The Dinosaur Museum is located on Hwy 76 next to the World's Largest Toy Museum and across the street from Bigfoot Fun Park.

"Very small"
September 2024
Although the dinosaur display itself is impressive and has good history, it only took 20 mins max to go through the whole thing and the boys ages 3 and 2 were done. It may be better with older kids but seemed people were getting through it pretty quickly. For the price and gas money it didn’t seem worth it, but could be enjoyable mixed with some other sights and tours. Branson always has exciting things to do. We did enjoy the owners cat who was super friendly. :)

"Fun but a little underwhelming"

The exhibit itself is honest in what it boasts to entail. The building itself seems too small for the exhibits though. Everything is very tightly packed in. Hopefully in the future they can expand. My kids still enjoyed it though!

"Quick and Cute"
July 2022
I was told about the museum before going by a friend we trust and it was about what we expected. It was cool, but our kids were only interested in looking at the dinos and then running to look at the others. If we could have held their attention a little longer then it would have been cooler I think. Still, not terrible.

"Doesn’t take very long to go through"
June 2021
Impressive dinosaur replicas. If visitors are not old enough to read only takes a few minutes to go through. However you can keep going back through. Dino souvenirs better at local Cracker Barrel a few minutes down the road. Little kids loved it but a little steep on tickets for what is there.

"Calling all junior paleontologists"
August 2017
Our 3 year old son was very excited to visit Branson's Dinosaur Museum. He loved wondering through the life-sized models. Learning about the dinosaurs. Seeing the artist's interpretations. Playing in the sand to find fossils.

From dinosaurs, sharks, snakes, scorpions and volcanoes, dinosaurs are by far our boy's favorite! Just last night he was explaining how large carnivores ate herbivores and smaller carnivores. Branson's Dinosaur Museum was a great place for our budding paleontologist.

"Dino Heaven"
July 2016
I read some of the other reviews before we went so I was prepared for a the warmer atmosphere and self paced stroll thru the facility. We arrived a little after 9:30AM so it was not too hot, and it was open and had a few families already touring.
The kids were immediately enthralled with all the huge dinos out front and the souvenirs to buy. but we kept them on task. I wish we had gone slower and read the info pages, but the kids were too excited to see everything. I took lots of pictures and enjoyed the movie. It was a fun experience. Hard to go backwards if another family is coming thru, so make sure you see it all the first time. We didn't stay to color, I forgot to ask and they didn't offer. But the kids enjoyed every minute. I wish the 'theater' sat more people. Our family pretty much filled it with just the 5 of us bc of the way the seats are arranged. But by the time we were ready to move on another family was ready to view so it was fine. Big groups will have to stand to view.

Tip: Booking online was super easy! I just showed my receipt and started my tour! Go early in the day if it's hot outside, that building is huge inside and hard to keep cool.

"Late Start"
August 2015
Got up early, the door said they opened at 9 that Sunday but we waited for 20 minutes before they unlocked the door. At that point we didn't have enough time to even go and explore and we didn't even bother going in, our schedule was too busy.
