"SAFETY at this hotel is a concern"

We stayed here on the 30th - 7th December 2024, family of 8 across two rooms in Block A The hotel is very basic and does what the majority of families need it to do whilst on vacation in Florida visiting parks after a long day - a place to rest their heads What you do not expect whilst resting your tired heads if for security/housekeeping to randomly try and enter your room after midnight for no reason at all - ( apparently wrong room ) and when stopped and told that there is no need, for him to continue standing there, staring at us and not say anything, this is quite frankly scary for any family new to an area and is unacceptable Luckily, the latch was on and if you do stay at this hotel, please ensure that you put the latch over your door - everynight Now, I am aware that mistakes happen, but things on this occasion did not add up and when speaking to the late night staff, assuming it was the manager, he did not deal with our concerns appropriately, even being so rude to discuss our issues in another language to the security guard who was also in presence at the time, even though both parties spoke clear English Even more concerning is that at no point did anyone apologise for what had happened and we was expected too continue on with our stay, and after an experience like that , it is very hard to get back to sleep and also sleep heavily from then on without fear that it happens again. The rooms are very dated, as previous post also mention, room also had a strong marijuanna smell to the room, originally thought it was coming from the safe which I would also add broke on 3 separate occasion through out our 7 night visit. The windows appear to be single glazed, so if you happen to be on the wrong side of block A, please expect to hear allot of noise from traffic ( especially cars with loud music and they happen often ), parties as its open to the elements The rooms are large, we had to pay extra for another bed to be added in the room due to our boys not wanting to share a bed together ( beds in room are 2 queen size beds ) On a positive note, the buffet food was fantastic, the staff in the shop when getting our Starbucks were very polite and courteous and the cleaning staff did a fantastic job every day, ensuring that when we got back from a long day at the park, our rooms were clean ( although they did have that strong smell of marijuanna, every night ). Our toilet blocked also one night and the repairman who fixed this was a polite gentleman who fixed the issue within 20 minutes from moment of making aware and he also deserves some positive recognition As mentioned, we had 2 rooms on the same row, same block A, and although we only had one room tried overnight, the noise, smell, dated room was exactly the same in both rooms ( I also want to add that they were not next to each other also ) Although our 14 night trip to florida was fantastic overall, I wish that we had paid extra to upgrade to a different hotel, safety is a concern for me at this hotel, literally anyone can walk of the street and be at your door to your room Perspectives are different for everyone but unfortunately through the experience we had, staff not dealing with our concerns appropriately and safety being a concern, we will not be staying at this hotel on any future stays and would not recommend this hotel to any friends or family

I had stayed on International Drive, twice before, once in 2017 and the second time in 2018, both times we had stayed in the Wyndham Orlando on Intl Dv, but when booking this 2024 trip we were informed that the Wyndham now charged daily parking as well as the dreaded daily resort fee, we were then offered the Rosen Inn at Pointe as they charged neither fees and it was excellent advice as the Rosen was the perfect hotel for our Orlando stay. Unlike the Wyndham, the Rosen was situated at the optimum position for International Drive, with everything you would need within walking distance. The check-in was smooth and efficient, and the rooms were clean and well-equipped, yes the rooms could do with an ‘update’ but the room rates and the lack of any additional fees is a ‘trade-off’ I was happy to make. Our room had two queen-double beds, very comfortable, a fridge, a microwave, a coffee machine and a large flat-screen TV, housekeeping was efficient and punctual, the parking was plentiful and the coffee shop and 24-hour shop nicely complimented the hotel facilities, I even found time to use two of the three pools which were again with a good source of poolside chairs and free towels. Our time in Orlando was broken up by a four-day trip to Miami so we stayed at the Rosen twice on either side of the Miami trip and the hotel definitely exceeded our expectations and we would absolutely return.

"Cockroaches & Weird Smells"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed November 25, 2024 NEW
Stayed at this hotel in November 2024 and left after one night due to a number of issues. The main one was cockroaches that were in the sink, and in the bath/shower. Other issues included a broken safe which kept sounding an alarm, room had a weird smell (a bit like cat's pee), and the door lock was dodgy. To be fair to the staff, they were friendly and I have been refunded for my bad stay, it was supposed to be a 12 nigh stay but due to the issues I checked out after the first night. So to summarise, polite and friendly staff but a poor hotel experience overall.

"Poor reception staff"

Customer service is poor. They’ll advise you can have late check out till 3pm when you check in, but when trying to arrange they change it to 12pm. The rooms, in fact the whole hotel, is very dated. The doors fit poorly and you’ll constantly hear traffic from either the freeway behind the hotel, or international drive at the front. Our room frequently smelt of marijuana despite neither of us taking it. The only redeeming feature of the hotel is the location, and the housekeeping staff who do a great job.
