"Accessible Rooms are not for wheelchair users"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

My partner Ricki and I Calum were on a cruise package, which included a 3 night stay at this hotel. FYI, I am a wheelchair traveller and informed my travel agent my requirements. On the 15th December 2024 arrived at this hotel, waited inline at reception to be see too. Went upto the reception and handed over our voucher. The reception gave us the key and explained where to go. Ricki asked if someone could help with our baggage and that was like asking for something out of the ordinary, in the end they got someone to help. Got into the room and the first thing we did was check the bathroom. BATH!!! It had a low bath and not a walk in shower like I asked for. We went to reception and nicely explained the room is no good for my needs and I needed a walk in / roll in shower. The person behind the desk said that they don’t have anything like that at this hotel. Ricki told her that I made sure our TA booked an accessible room with a walk in shower. Sorry sir, we don’t have this she said. Ricki asked if she could phone the hotel that I booked (we were staying on in Orlando until after Christmas, but at a different hotel) and see if they had any availability prior to our stay there? She said that they have 7 other hotels here and she would see if her manager could get us in any of their other hotels. The manager came out and said to her that they do have 2 accessible rooms here, just give them one. Please don’t ask me why she told us they don’t have accessible rooms, when the manager said they have. Anyway, after 4pm this room was ready, so we went and checked it and it did have what they class as a walk in / roll in shower. We decided to take it, as there was no other option. But it was not an accessible bathroom for disabled wheelchair users, as the shower was behind a brick wall and it had a deep recess drain that I had to navigate over that is uneven for me. The room itself was too small to get around in a wheelchair and my wheelchair is small. I'm glad I crawl, because otherwise I'd have difficulties getting around. The morning we were leaving, Ricki was left to get our luggage from the room to the outside lobby without the requested help we asked for at reception. The staff are ignorant when it comes to disability and I have never known this to be in a hotel! Not only that, this hotel that our travel agent booked us in is apparently a 3 star. I would definitely disagree, because the rooms are in desperation of upgrading as everything is old and falling apart. Ricki found cockroaches in the bathroom and if I had known, I’d be off and you would have heard about it as I do not do cockroaches for anything. If you're a wheelchair user and require an accessible room with a walk in / roll in shower, then please don't stay here. We stayed at the Days Inn by Wyndham in Orlando, which we independently booked prior to going as they advertised having accessible rooms with walk in / roll in showers and I can confirm they do and I would recommend that hotel.

"Awful hotel. Never again!"

We booked to stay at rosen pointe for 2 weeks, mostly based on opinions from Facebook pages we follow for tips on Idrive and Disney etc.. Previously, last year, we'd stayed at the Rosen Plaza, and we loved it there. Rosen at pointe was so bad, that I don't think I'd even know where to begin! The hotel block had the most constant, strongest smell of cannabis I've ever experienced. It felt like there were 5 people smoking in our room, and it started around 9am, and carried on until we went to bed, for the whole 2 weeks. We were placed in block F, the furthest block away, and about 150-200 meters away from the main reception, restaurant, shop, bars etc. There seemed to always be a few homeless people hanging around the hotel grounds - and We did not see any security guards patrolling, for the entire time we stayed there. We did not feel safe, or secure at all. The maid cleaned our room well, and we tipped well and thanked her for it - but the rooms were incredibly worn and dated, the curtains were half torn.. the headboards on the beds broken and torn. On top of all that, there was a lot of noise from building work happening on other blocks. (Which we weren't pre-warned about) The road noise was insanely loud too, the window is like single pane, so there's no protection from that. You can hear it even with ear plugs. The toilets were blocked up with other peoples sewage several times from the people staying in the rooms behind. The problem was always rectified quickly by staff, but it was not nice to wake up to! 🤢 It. Was. Awful. As soon as we got to our rooms and saw them - I regretted booking this hotel. I can't speak for the other blocks, but ours was honestly dreadful. Never again.

"Another great stay"

Just back from a 16 day stay in Orlando and Rosen inn at Pointe Orlando didn’t disappoint. Rooms are dated however are extremely clean, beds comfy, loads of storage space with shampoo, soap, hairdryer, microwave and coffee maker. My hairdryer didn’t work twice however was quickly sorted within 30 mins of reporting. We stayed in Block A fifth floor. There is noise from I4 however as a deeper sleeper It didn’t bother me. It was like a humming noise and if the air con is on it drowns the noise out. Didn’t eat the restaurant however the 24/7 lite bite is perfect. Lots of choices from bagels, toast, yoghurt and hot prepared bagels for breakfast and lots of prepacked sandwhiches for lunch and hot options for lunch and tea. Very reasonably priced and good quality. Very friendly and help shop staff to. Reception staff very helpful to. We used the free shuttle to universal which was very handy and on time. Didn’t use it coming back as didn’t fit around our plans but good service going there. Thinking about coming back to Orlando soon and would choose this hotel first.

"Not bad"

For the price, not bad. Upon arrival, I was concerned as the doors to rooms are outside, more like a motel. We had some trouble with our key card multiple times and the room smell was slightly musty. However, it was clean and had all the appointments you would expect, including coffee, microwave, and a mini fridge. Housekeeping was provided daily and was great. It was too cold to go in the pools, but they looked a little nicer than a typical standard hotel. There is no hot tub. There is a little shop and coffee bar with fresh squeezed orange juice. Across the street is a CVS, many restaurants, IMAX, and main event arcade. The convention center is a 15 minute walk.

"Would I return? YES"

I booked this last minute at a very good price for one. I had never stayed at a Rosen property before this and I was sceptical for the price. On arrival I had been allocated a room far from the reception area, this wasn't an issue to me but next to me was a large booking of 25 rooms all being put in the same area, the lady behind reception asked if I was okay with this to which I said I wouldn't mind. She must have seen the look of worry on my face. She then tapped away and said we have block c floor 4. This was perfect for me. I got to my room and was treated by a lovely cool, clean, spacious room. For the price I paid I was more then happy. The beds are soooooo comfortable, the pillows I need these in my own home. There was a fridge and microwave in the room with a coffee machine, some paper cups and coffee for the morning - this was restocked daily too. The towels was changed daily too. The room was dark, but this was more to do with the dark wood furniture but as I didn't spend too much time in the room it didn't bother me. The lite bites shop on site was a little pricey but nothing more then expected for an onside shop. It was well stocked, the pizza they do is lovely too. First night I just didn't want to wander to far. 3 pools, one was out of use due to works being completed when I was there but this wasn't an issue. The work started around 9am and I didn't hear anything in the evening when returning after a full day out. The hotel is a short walk from CVS, Wallgreens and a number of restaurants. There is loads to pick from. On the door step there is wonder works, and a short walk to icon park. The daily transport to universal was good too, pre book the previous day and just hop on. The way back was a little hit and miss to be fair but an user was around 6-8 $ I will definitely return to this hotel
