Located in downtown Tampa, this hotel is in the city center and near a train station. It is two miles southwest of Ybor City, and offers easy access to some of Tampa's top attractions.

"Missed opportunities"

Positives: Nice hotel, and friendly staff in a historic building. Well done rooms and beds. Missed opportunities: Renovating a historic courthouse into a hotel is a challenge for sure. The missed opportunities: hotel lobby entrance is on the lower level side of the building and feels like you are coming in through a basement. It feels like it deserves something more grand. The upper level marble floors and hallways are well preserved but feel cold and well like an old courthouse office. Improvements such as carpet runners and dimmer lighting would make it feel more cozy and less office cold like. Add some historic pictures of judges and others who have passed through the doors. Tell the story of the building! Location is OK, but not ideal when compared to the other major hotel brands in the area closer to the waterfront.

"Not what it used to be…"

My husband and I stayed at this hotel several times pre-covid and thought it was a great little “boutique-style” hotel with luxury finishes and amenities. This is our first time back in 5 years and the quality of food, menu selection, decor, and general appearance appears to be lacking. Of course it has amazing bones bc it’s still the old courthouse- but now it’s decorated like a typical “coastal beach vibes” hotel? No more espresso/coffee makers in the room? The wallpaper and rugs look cheap. Lounge furniture around bar looks cheesy. Our mattress had a big dent in the center of it, so my husband kept rolling into the middle of the bed. And the prices have only gone up on EVERYTHING, but you’re definitely not getting what you pay for. The valet, check-in desk, and bartender was great on Friday night.

"Spectacular hotel, spectacularly overpriced"

This is a beautiful building, adapted from a federal courthouse. The room is perfectly fine but average (and I had a heating problem that was not resolved, despite a visit from engineering). The hotel was priced at more than two times what it's worth. I stayed for a conference, otherwise I would have stayed somewhere else. If they can get what they charged --- $600 for one night, including parking! --- good for them, and they probably should. But that rate is simply insane for a nice but average downtown Tampa hotel on an average weekday night.

"Beautiful Old Courthouse Turned Hotel"

The day before departing for a cruise, my husband and I needed a place to stay and this was perfect. We were able to check in early (they had a different room ready at that time so we just took it) and the front desk staff were so friendly and helpful! We were able to easily get Ubers to and from wherever we needed to go, but there are lots of restaurants/cafes nearby so we walked some too. The room was really clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We were given a voucher for a continental breakfast in the restaurant upstairs, but we went up and saw a lot of people waiting, so we left and went somewhere close by. Would definitely stay here again!

"Amazing Hotel - Historic Building"

In January we head up to Tampa to meet with our friends from Norway. We could not be more delighted with our experience! The historic building was transformed into a beautiful hotel. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. The breakfast is served in one of their restaurants and it was delicious. If you want to enjoy the Riverwalk and the Armature Works, this hotel is the perfect hotel! You will be in a walk distance to both locations. If you have a chance to visit this his hotel, look for Yansel Perez, Santiago and Paul Pabon at the Front Desk. They are amazing and will answer all your questions!
