"This place needs a complete overhaul. Very disappointing."

This hotel was a huge disappointment. There were decent reviews on TripAdvisor so we decided to book it. We arrived very late at night due to a flight delay. First of all, the hotel seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. It looked a little run down from the outside, but whatever. We entered and a guy came out to check us in. It seemed that the equipment and technology was rather old, but whatever. He was very nice and helpful. This is where things started going downhill. We got into the elevator with our bags and it was kind of junky looking but whatever, we were tired. The elevator opened on the second floor and we were hit with the odor. It smelled like dirty carpet among other things. The carpet did appear pretty dirty, so it made sense. We went into our room, which was very spartan to say the least, especially at the price point. It seemed “clean” but was very old. The bathroom was fairly clean but the tub/shower had mold around the fixtures and the chrome was not even cleaned. The shower head was low and immovable, which wouldn’t accommodate my tall husband. There were tiny bars of soap and enough shampoo for maybe two washes. The bed was pretty comfortable but the sheets looked like they hadn’t been changed - all wrinkled. The furniture was old and pretty beat up. The decor was quite outdated. One of the worst things was the crappy refrigerator that was in the room. It ran frequently with a horrible buzzing sound that kept us up all night. Also an issue was a squeaky floor above our room, which was very strange. Aren’t hotels made of concrete? It sounded like we were in an old house with loose wooden floors overhead. Someone or something was walking across the floor pretty much all night long. Needless to say we didn’t get much sleep that night and I was up at 2am looking for another place to stay. We decided to give the free breakfast a try and that was incredibly disappointing. What was advertised as continental breakfast was actually do it yourself waffles and cereal, nothing else. We decided right then to check out and go to a restaurant to eat. We ended up at a wonderful Airbnb for the rest of the weekend. This hotel is very overpriced for the condition that it’s in. It needs a complete renovation. The only saving grace was the two employees who we dealt with, they were nice and understanding. We are supposed to get a partial refund through TripAdvisor so here’s hoping it comes through. Definitely would not recommend.

"DON'T STAY HERE"

Upon checking in, the desk clerk gave me a room key and told me not to let it come in contact with anything magnetic. I returned to the desk after the key didn't work right away. The clerk accused me of letting it come into contact with something magnetic. The next morning we left our room for the day at 9:30 am. We returned at 6pm. Our room was not cleaned. Sheets were not changed. Housekeeping had not come in. I called the desk to inquire about it and they said that the housekeepers had left for the day but I could come down and get some clean towels and sheets to change the bed myself. He said that I must've left the do not disturb sign on the door. I told him that was not the case. This hotel has absolutely TERRIBLE service. I do not recommend staying here!

Overall good, clean budget hotel room. We stayed during Christmas week and continental breakfast was available every day, room was clean and front staff very pleasant. Property is in decent shape, like laminate floor in room over carpets usually found in budget hotels.

Great location! Comfortable beds, nice towels and very clean room. Parking was plentiful. Breakfast choices: Texas waffles, yogurt, frosted flakes, fruit loops, milk, apple juice, orange juice and coffee. 1 mile or less to Historic Main Street in Grapevine. Just what we needed for an overnight trip.

"Will never stay here again."

If you are hoping for a restful night and energizing start to the day, don't stay here! The first thing we normally do after arriving is to unplug the alarm clock. In this case, it was difficult to do, so we contented ourselves with making sure it was in the "off" position. Well, apparently off doesn't mean off, and it woke us up in the early hours, but late enough so that we were unable to get back to sleep. Isn't the cleaning staff supposed to check on things like that?? For travellers between long flights, I can't imagine anything more frustrating. As for "an energing start" breakfast is sugar and carbs. Not worth it.
