I loved this resort. The fireplace in my room. The excellent customer service. The ability to check out a heating pad after a long day of hiking. However, I did experience an issue with my room, which was technically resolved, but would definitely make others choose to not stay here. Since it may have been a fluke thing, and the staff responded, I won't go into the details. I would probably still take a chance and stay here again for the convenience of location and low rates. A few small friendly criticisms: - The bed was hard and uncomfortable. I ended up sleeping on the couch one of the three nights I stayed here. - There is no clear path from rooms to the pool that you can walk barefoot. You will have to walk on pavement through the parking lot depending on where your room is. - There is loud music playing in the pool area during the day. If I stayed in a room closer to the pool, I would be annoyed by it. I found it bothersome when I used the pool area. - The kitchen items provided were not that great. The pan was NOT non-stick. I used it to cook eggs, and there was not a good enough scrubber provided to clean it. The dishwasher didn't clean it well, either.

We were looking for something for Spring Break, and wanted to use a week we had with Interval International. We have been to the San Diego area often and stayed in different places, but none of them were available. We though we'd give this one a try, and it was great! Admittedly, it's about an hour drive to get to a lot of places (Coronado Island, La Jolla, etc.), but we also found plenty to do closer to the resort. The kids were totally happy with the pools, pickleball, and other activities at the resort. My husband and I both used the gym daily, and it had everything we needed (although wifi was poor there- hard to watch my workout videos!). Ramona was a close and cute little town with fun shops and great restaurants (Marinade on Main). We would definitely stay here again!

We were looking for a place to stay near Woodson Castle where we were attending a wedding. We saw that Riviera Oaks Resort was nearby and booked our weekend. We were greeted warmly at check-in by the friendly resort staff and given a map to where we could park near our room. It is a very large property with racquet ball courts, pool, hot tub, and weight room. They have chargers in the parking lot for your electric or hybrid vehicles. Our room was very spacious and clean with a large bedroom, dining area, living room, bathroom, full kitchen, and outdoor patio area. This was very luxurious compared to the regular cramped hotel rooms that we are used to. When we checked out the person at the front desk was also genuinely kind. We only stayed two nights, but plan to come back to Riviera Oaks in the near future just to explore and relax because it's really beautiful in Ramona and the resort itself is a great getaway , besides being very near Safari Park, museums, and vineyards.
