Located in the heart of the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, near both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, the RainForest Zoo is open year round. Mixing fun with education, it features over 600 live animals, representing over 130 species! It’s perfect for any season and features both indoor and outdoor exhibits! RainForest Adventures Discovery Zoo is open year round (except for Christmas), and is located in the heart of the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Tennessee near both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Mixing fun with education, the RainForest zoo has been themed by one of the nation’s finest zoological contractors whose work includes Animal Kingdom at Disney World.

RainForest Adventures features both indoor and outdoor exhibits and is perfect for any season or any weather. The zoo nurtures over 600 live animals representing over 130 species. We are home to unique and beautiful creatures from the Rain Forests of the world including two species of monkeys from the jungles of South America.

A petting zoo that is chock full of goats, sheep and lots of other surprises await the whole family. Remember to bring your cameras!

"Don’t miss the live shows!"

Stay for the live show at 1 or 3 daily! Very much worth the trip. Very knowledgeable employees, and a wide range of animals. The capuchin area was very enjoyable. And there were lots of families enjoying the petting zoo area. Fun time, and worth the $.

The show with the older gentleman animal trainer was ahhhhmazing. He was fun for all ages! The animals were very cool to see, it is a bit pungent smelling but ya are at an animal involved attraction 😉

"Jungle Jim Rules!!!"

This place was so fun. I enjoyed seeing all the animals and seeing the goats while we were there. There was one employee that let out a goat. He was so sweet. I also enjoyed doing the show with Jungle Jim. He was a great show host. He was great with the animals, jokes and magic tricks. I even got to touch a huge tarantula, which is my biggest fear. He was great and I would highly recommend going there and doing the show. I hope I will come back soon, but if you go, I hope you enjoy it. Go Jungle Jim!

They had a broad assortment of animals from birds to reptiles. The staff was friendly and informative and let us touch snakes and birds. Fun for anyone.

"Baby llamas"

The baby llamas are too adorable,you can feed them for $3.The binturong was sadly sleeping. The primates are cute and Jeffrey the cockatoo is super sweet. You can pay $40 to feed a sloth.Nice affordable family activity.
