"Great if you skip shivering timbers, awful if you don't"

I've loved roller coasters since I was tall enough to ride them. That's like almost 40 years of loving and riding any and all roller coasters I could find from Disney land to Disney world...from mall parking lot carnivals to state/ county fairs, 6 flags and everything in between. This is the ONLY coaster I have hated. We rode every ride in the park then rode shivering timbers before riding the others a second time. Well, it ended up being our last ride. All of us including our 13 year old had to leave and went straight home after this one. It isnt scary. It doesn't do anything more than most wooden coasters by way of thrill..what it does do, though, is slam your body all over the place, whip your head and neck around while providing no neck support. It comes off the tracks and comes back down with a spine cracking thud over and over and over. Had I been able to, I would have gotten off halfway through. This is poorly engineered and I am shocked the park hasn't been sued by someone more litigious than I for back and neck injuries over this ride

Still fun after 40 years! Buy the fast pass- worth every cent! Food quality at park is on par with amusement parks- not healthy, but tasty.

"Family friendly park, smaller than used to."

Small park but friendly and welcoming. Water park seemed to be the favorite section for most people. Had a few coasters with little waiting time. I enjoyed the swans you can peddle on the lake. That is unique. Food choices are not as diverse as other parks we have been to, but it is a small park. Vegan and gluten free options are available. Look for food options pamphlet available. Not near the liquor or alcohol in this park which I loved. Lots of trees for shade. Some of the restrooms have air conditioning.

This is the worse amusement park we have ever been to. We stood in line for the Mad Mouse for and hour and ended up leaving the ride. They kept letting the same people with fast pass ride the ride back to back and nit taking people from the regular line. Staff were very rude. We went to get an drink at a drink station and they tried to use our food pass and telling us that we couldn't get another drink for 3 hours when we are allowed to get a drink every 15 minutes. The staff at the rides didn't know what they were doing. Just a horrible experience all together. Cedar Point in Ohio is so mich better unfortunately it was suppose to rain there today and that was the ONLY reason we went to Michigan Adventures. Won't ever waste the 2 hour drive to go there again. Totally understand why Cedar Fair rated it 11 out of their 12 amusement parks.

"Great Experience, But Don't Buy the Food! :-)"

This was our first visit as a family to Michigan's Adventure and let me first admit that it is no Cedar Point or Six Flags Great America, but you and the family can still have fun here. I would first make sure to buy tickets off their website the night before. We made the mistake of waiting to buy them online the day of and they went up in price. (We paid $45.00 per person plus $25.00 for onsite parking.) Going on a weekday is a great time to visit as the lines were not very long at all. Even if you weren't sure the length of the line and/or wait time, then you could check on their app ( which I highly recommend that you download after buying your tickets online.) The app will tell you live wait times for rides, it'll include a map of the park, also it includes which food places are open for service as well. Our party included older kids and a little kid, so while the older kids went on rides, I took our youngest to the Camp Snoopy portion of the park and it was a perfect place for a three year old to ride some kiddie rides and have fun while the older kids rode bigger rides. After spending three hours in the roller coaster park, we headed back out to the parking lot for a picnic lunch in the lot. It was a much better deal for us to eat lunch there, rather than spend a lot of money on bad food at the park. The park does takes your picture for re-entry so you will have no problem coming back in. After our picnic lunch we headed back inside to the water park ( we also changed into our swimsuits in our car and did not rent a water locker- which ended up saving us some money as well) There was not a lot of chairs to sit on at the front of the water park, but you really don't need a chair unless you plan to sit and relax while your kids play around the water park. Also this water park is huge! It has many great water attractions for kids of all ages- my youngest enjoyed the kiddie splash zone and my two older kids loved the water tube rides. We spent another three hours at the water park which was incredible! Overall, this park is a great place to spend the day but I would definitely visit on a weekday and not purchase any park food. One additional side note: this place is not as nice as Cedar Point or Six Flags, they have older rides and an older looking park, however you can still have a great day at Michigan's Adventure.
