Good To Know

Enjoy two (2) flights in a state-of-the-art wind tunnel, lasting 60 seconds each—similar to the 45-second freefall portion of an actual skydive!
The total experience lasts about 1.5 hours inclusive of a training session and hands-on assistance from a certified and trained flight instructor.
Ages 3 and up can enjoy the safe thrills of flying with the instructor's supervision.
Flyer's weight must not exceed 300lbs. Individuals weighing 260–300lbs are subject to additional evaluation by the local staff.
Please wear casual clothes and well-fitting lace-up sneakers or running shoes—you'll wear a flight suit over your clothes.
Goggles are large enough to be worn over eyeglasses but secure your hair in a braid or a low bun to fit the helmet.
Flying is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, have non-removable hard cast/prosthetics, head, neck, back, or shoulder injury, or have a heart condition.
Flyers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present to sign their flight waiver.

Excitement, adrenaline and adventure await at iFLY Indoor Skydiving San Francisco Bay! Located just west of I-880 in Union City, California, indoor skydiving at iFLY SF Bay is safe for kids, challenging for adults, exciting for teens and realistic for skydivers. No experience is necessary, great fun for all ages (three and up).

Simply put, iFLY is flying; you will soar on a column of air inside a vertical wind tunnel. The vertical wind tunnel moves air up in a vertical column, creating the indoor skydiving experience.

iFLY is the world leader and most experienced company when it comes to vertical wind tunnels. iFLY SF Bay uses superior technology and is unique; multiple fans located at the top of the flight chamber produce a wall-to-wall airflow that is smooth and fun to fly in. The air flow is totally controllable; this, combined with our professional instructors, makes for the most exciting flight experience possible.

Flyers do not need any previous experience to fly! At iFLY SF Bay, you will learn how to fly your body in a controlled manner with the assistance of your instructor. Professional flight instructors will provide you with all of your flight gear, along with the fundamental skills for bodyflight through a classroom training session. All you have to do is get ready to smile because this will be the most exciting thing you have ever accomplished!

Skydivers love freefall because it's the closest possible thing to true human flight. Now everyone can experience the same exhilaration, in a safe environment, in full view of family and friends!

Everything that you need for a flight experience is waiting for you at iFLY. No experience is needed, just a sense of adventure and a yearning for the supreme personal flight experience. The innovative sport of bodyflight is always new and always exciting.

The entire process lasts roughly 90 minutes. Each flight package includes not only your flight time, but also your pre-flight training and gear rental. iFLY San Francisco takes ages three (3) and up and all prices are the same for children and adults.

First, let me say Thomas and Shawn were great instructors. They were very good with both my wife and I...especially because it was a unique date for both of us and I wanted to do something different. The efficiency of the operation, however, left me wondering if I made a mistake. Don’t set an appointment for 5:30 pm if you expect to get out of there any earlier than 7:30 pm. And that was for only 120 seconds of actual fly time. We could have done the video, suit up and had follow up instructions delivered within about 20 minutes tops. Waiting 40 minutes to just get started was bulls**t. Then waiting even longer between instruction and getting in the tube was bigger BULLS**T!! Enjoyed the flying part...A LOT!

I took my niece for her 18th birthday. We were both pretty nervous but the staff was awesome and helped us feel more comfortable and safe. After the 1st flight my niece was still hesitant to try the high flight but she did it and had a blast! Our instructor Andrew was awesome! He made our entire group feel confident and safe. We did the extra virtual reality flight and highly recommend it! We are definitely going back and bringing friends :)

Yes, for the best experience you need to be able to go with the flow. Delays can happen. Your arrival is to get everyone booked at that time in the building and checked in. They allow approximately 30 min for that. Then flight school is approximately 10 min. Then suiting up the 10 or so people per flight group, which includes flight suit, googles and helmet is another 20-30 min. This is for your safety. Everything needs to fit appropriately. Then you wait your turn for the air tunnel. We were first timers and we were a bit nervous. Shaun was our instructor and the key instruction, beyond knowing and understanding the hand signals, was to relax! Just lay on the airstream and let it hold you. No need to tense your muscles. I watched how some of the instructors got a bit beat up by people fighting the airstream. So I can understand why there is a weight limit and why it is the instructors decision. They are at risk of injury. Our experience was amazing! Exhilarating is the term I use!! We signed up for the package of 10 to return. If you can avoid the weekends, do yourself that favor. Children’s Birthday parties are prominent then. Otherwise, take flight and enjoy the ride!!

Each flight within the wind tunnel lasts 60 seconds. When jumping from an airplane, the free fall portion lasts approximately 45 seconds. Your admission includes two (2) one-minute flights. The total experience lasts approximately 1.5 hours, including check-in, training session, flights, gear removal, and time to look at photos and video afterwards.

Is it safe?

Yes, the iFLY vertical wind tunnel uses superior technology to produce smooth wall-to-wall airflow that is safe to fly in. Certified flight instructors will also ensure safe and enjoyable flight sessions—your instructor will be with you throughout your flight, regardless of your experience level.

Is there a weight restriction?

iFLY will not be able to accommodate individuals whose weight exceeds 300lbs. Individuals weighing between 260–300lbs are subject to additional evaluation by local staff to determine if they may be accommodated and whether additional restrictions may apply.

What should I wear?

Flight suits will be worn over casual clothes, preferably pants and a shirt without a collar. Comfortable, non-restrictive clothing should be worn with well-fitting, lace-up sneakers or running shoes. Flyers with long hair should secure it back braided or in a low bun to fit the helmet.
