Long post warning: A very strange hotel to be considered a 4 star hotel. Literally 1 star away from being the best of the best and is very comparable to a mediocre 3 star. To start, check in time at 4:00pm. We arrive a little before 7:00pm and room not ready due to plumbing issue. No estimated time to fix and magically "we have no other rooms available." Then they stated that they could put us in an available suite upgraded at their cost but does not have the same amenities such as the balcony and view of the courtyard which we requested. We asked if we could stay in that room tonight and move into ours the next day since it was booked, we were told no, if we take the suite then the whole thing changes and that other room is no longer available, even though it isn't booked.... Oh well, we decide to wait and find out during this time about the hidden $22/day for parking after spending $800 to stay there... So I ask, the price difference in the suite upgrade is more than the covering cost of parking, can we do that instead, "We'll have to check" which after 4 days somehow nobody knew anything about and didn't do it. Rooms were nice and quiet wall to wall and floor to ceiling. However if I would've known how loud it is in the courtyard and not sound proof from that, We would've taken the suite. The cool part, they do something nightly for families out in the courtyard but you can hear every detail in your room so if you are trying to get young ones down early, it'll be loud. Restaurant has a cool vibe but mediocre food at best. Always understaffed and super long waits and very pricey (2 drinks, 2 appetizers, and 1 dessert Costs $75). The bald male bartender was EXTREMELY rude to everyone he served once it got busier than 3 customers. The pool was okay. Advertised as a heated pool, the only heated part was the hot tub. The other 3 pools were definitely not heated. It was between 85 and 90 degrees each day we were there and the hot tub turned out not to be a relaxing pool but a place for everyone to warm up because it was unbearable. Staff simply stated "I don't know, guess it just feels cold but should be at a good temp" is all we ever got. Pros: Location-If you want to be close to downtown but away from the hustle and busy part of San Antonio, this was awesome. Quiet and peaceful area but maybe a 10 minute drive. Daily activities for kids The activities person was awesome Courtyard has multiple gas fireplaces and nightly movies with s'mores (for a fee) Cons: Price for what you get hidden fees costly food long waits unhelpful staff cold pool (not heated as advertised) If room faces courtyard, will be loud in your room at night Balcony is TINY if you're a grown up. I've made the switch to Hyatt years ago and been loyal to them. We have had more than one experience like this with Hilton before and wasn't going to go back. We made this decision because the pool and activities sounded cool for the kids and rolled the dice. Turns out, it confirms why we made the switch. At least with others like Hyatt and Marriott, they'll attempt to make things right, Not just a generic robotic response of "we're sorry, we strive for excellence, blah blah blah" Overall, not worth the price.

"No Wi-Fi in my room"

The hotel was nice also nice people too but had no Internet connection in a room and no data either. So if you had to use Wi-Fi, you had to go sit in the lobby of the hotel. And having Wi-Fi is a key central to stay in our hotels, especially if you really needed it for school work or anything else.

"Horrible customer service"

More interested in asking if you are a honors member than fixing the issue. They have a known issue with WiFi they know it’s bad after a 15 minute call transferred 4 times then disconnected. So front desk recommends the pool WiFi instead of fixing the actual issue. Then you connect to it and it drops service unexpectedly at random intervals.

"Nice and convenient."

It was a very nice and convenient hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a great location near Sea World, which was our reason for being there. Breakfast was really good. The pool and facilities had been remodeled, and we had a great time. The bedding and rooms were very comfortable. The only negative was the $19.00 parking charge.

Beautiful hotel right when I walked in, but horrible service I received upon check in. Which ruined my entire stay, the front desk makes or breaks a persons day upon check in. As I walked up to check in desk the service agent did not great me or acknowledge me sanding there as she typed and looked at her computer screen, never once looked up. So I told her I'm checking in gave her my name and put my ID on the counter. She then still said no other word to me a charged me for my stay. the only words she said was will I be parking there and asked for y license plate number. Which I said I will provided when I returned for I didn't know it. Then she gave me my key and told me where the elevator was located. Didn't acknowledge my Hilton honors member or even great me. Which ruined my stay and check out right when my family woke up. The whole check-in process was just horrible, I didn't get the females agents name to acknowledge the horrible service I got from her. She was dressed in jeans and western or plaid shirt. I should have asked her for her name but didn't for she ruined what should have been a good experience.
