Old run down facilities. Rooms are damp. Decor is from the 1980’s. Heater had an odd odor so couldn’t use it. Sink and shower didn’t drain properly. Grounds are old and poorly maintained. Worst place I have stayed at in decades. I am a Hilton Gold member and know this is not up to Hilton standards.

This place is an absolute DUMP. It's a motel at best and the rooms are horrendous. My only plus was that my room had a microwave and refrigerator. SHOCKING. I live in central Florida and I am embarrassed a place like this exists. Staff is so noisy, I was there for business but never slept. They have no courtesy for the guests. Screaming and laughing at 6 am outside the door. I felt unsafe and put my chair under the door handle. The market food is expensive $5 each for chips and candy bars and everything I purchased was old. It's old and dirty and they have the audacity to call the rooms VILLAS. Do your research and spend your money elsewhere. DON'T STAY HERE.

We went as part of "stay to play" for Volleyball. Terrible hotel. Dated interior, parking was a nightmare (and $30/night), elevators made suspicious noises in the main tower. The only thing it had going for it was that it was walking distance to the convention center, so we didn't have to pay for parking twice. Breakfast was a tiny buffet that was crowded quickly. Cannot recommend, and in fact cancelled my next reservation in June for someplace else.

There were many issues during my stay that were more than cleanliness. I encountered rat feces, was bug bitten in my room, mold and moisture, and completely disrespected. I was a speaker at an event for counselora and I was and assigned a room that was incorrect. I then moved again, but there were 3 unattended dogs in the next room and they barked nonstop Saturday. It took 3 attempts to get security on day shift to help. I was dismissed by day managers. The night security and manager finally got my room changed. Unfortunately when I settled into that room, 400 building there was a dirty tub full of hair, and moisture in the room dripping from walls and paneling. I have been physically sick and had no strength to continue room changes, so I placed towels in the door opening (about an inch) to keep the gnats out as best as I could. I have to fly to CA for a surgery and going home at that time was not an option before leaving. I live up north. I took photos of the issues and called multiple times trying to get relief...or acknowledgement of the chaos I went through during the stay. I was hung up on twice by staff during the day, then told to call later. I was promised a call back within 2 hours and no one returned my calls subsequently. I was told that other customers were waiting. I wanted to move to the grand vacations in Orlando as a part of a pre purchased package 2 days before departure that I was scammed into by an agent in 2024 who did not disclose the presentation. However, HGV Orlando was no better. The room smelled of chemicals so I stayed at Double Tree awaiting the next night. I packed everything I had yet again being unwel, and went back to Orlando HGV. I was given a new room and it smelled terrible as well. Finally after refusing to wait on the manager to see I was in need to help, I had to demand his presence to assist me. He would not come out of the back office and the desk person kept shooing me to the side for "more important and higher class people", or so they assumed based on my sweatshirt and exhaustion from a medical condition. Finally, the manager had the lady at the desk inform me of sulfur contamination in the water and construction. I was told to call the marketing staff (Solomon or Demarr). Demarr changed the call back number in the notes to his number after I told him I was contacting corporate for a refund of my $111.00. When I called back the general number for help, I got Eric on the phone who gave me the number routed back to Demarr (who claimed to be collections for HGV). He muttered a different number than the one he gave me, so Demarr changed it after I said I was reporting his behavior. I attempted to get my money back from marketing on 3 occasions in the same day and multiple times throughout the past year after they never disclosed a tour. I ONLY took the offer out of desperate attmept to leave my moldy room at Double Tree. I was blamed by Demarr for "not understanding " the terms because I am autistic. I am really mortified by this experience and spent over $1,000 to feel depleted and taken advantage of. Unfortunately, my disability requests were not honored, and Demarr from Marketing for HGV spoke to me like an idiot and used multiple fear tactics, threatened my stay and spoke slowly to insinuate I was delayed once I told him I was autistic and couldn't keep up with his tactics and nonsense excuses to return the money. I only give this 2 stars because of the kind security guard at night. He was helpful, as well as the parking attendant on night shift at Double Tree. As an honors member and frequent guest of Hilton, I expected to be treated with dignity and respect like any other customer at Double Tree or HGV Orlando. I will never return to those locations and will update review if resolution and acknowledgement occur from corporate management.

"Hilton’s “Walking” Policy Feels More Like a Scam – Avoid Hilton Hotels!!"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed February 22, 2025 NEW
Hilton’s “Walking” Policy Feels More Like a Scam – Avoid Hilton Hotels!! I have never had such a frustrating and unacceptable experience at a hotel. DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld completely failed my family and me with their deceptive overbooking practices, causing major inconvenience and disruption to our trip. We arrived at the hotel, only to be told that they had double-booked our room and were “walking” us to another hotel because they didn’t actually have the room we had already reserved and paid for. Instead of honoring our booking, they shipped us off to Hilton Orlando, claiming they were “taking care of us” by paying the difference in rates. Let’s be clear—they weren’t taking care of us. They were taking care of their own screw-up. It’s not like we received any upgraded accommodations or additional perks at Hilton Orlando—we were simply inconvenienced and forced to relocate due to their overbooking. On top of that, when we arrived at Hilton Orlando, they originally gave us a single king bed room instead of the double queen beds room we had paid for. When I complained to the front desk, she argued with me that Double Tree staff had informed them that they told me they didn’t have any more dual queen bed rooms and that I was ok with that….. I continued to complain and luckily the caved and magically found the room I needed for my family the night. To make matters worse, this was only for one night! We were then forced to pack everything up early the next morning, leave for our event, and then wait until 4 PM to check back into our original hotel—losing an entire day of our stay. This completely disrupted our plans and was a massive inconvenience for my family. When we raised concerns, Hilton staff dismissed our frustration, claiming that this is a “common industry practice” and that all hotels do it. If this is so common, why weren’t we informed in advance? Why did we book at DoubleTree if Hilton can just send us somewhere else whenever they feel like it? This isn’t an “industry standard”—it’s a bait-and-switch tactic and a blatant breach of trust. Hilton failed us completely—disrupting our plans, forcing us to waste valuable time, and offering zero consideration for how much they inconvenienced us. At a bare minimum, Hilton should be offering full compensation for the lost day, plus additional compensation for this major disruption. I will think twice before ever booking with Hilton again, and I strongly urge others to reconsider as well. Your reservation is NOT guaranteed, and Hilton has no problem “walking” you to another hotel with little regard for your time, comfort, or the money you spent.
