"An Enjoyable Outing"

Parking is a bit of a hassle as everything is metered and you can only pay for up to 2 hours. The municipal parking lot was pretty convenient and inexpensive. There is a coat check, which was nice, so you didn't have to carry your coat with you. Admission was fairly quick as many seemed to have prepaid. The cashier provides you with a bag to place your "treasures" in and, explained the holiday scavenger hunt and how to get a prize upon completion. We started on the 4th floor as other reviewers suggested, and only waited a few minutes to do the activities, which the age group of 4 to 8 year olds were enjoying. The crafts offered on the other floors, were low key, but for the age group, very appropriate. Fun was had in the play arena and the lab, with the computer activated activities. We did opt for the $15 Holiday Boost, which value wise isn't a great deal but the snack provided was fine. Food options are pricey and they need more staff to clean the tables and floor. The Gift Shop was well stocked with an assortment of merchandise, again a little pricey, but there are some economical options. All in all, we spent 5 hours and it was an enjoyable day.

"Fun for All Ages"

Is fun for all ages. Plenty to keep adults and kids engaged. Is also nice that teachers can get in free (regardless of where you teach in the US—just bring a copy of your teaching certificate). Only complaint really is the food in the cafe is pretty tasteless and expensive, but I think this is pretty typical for places like this.

"Not the best experience"

I am an annual passholder, I come twice a month. Usually it’s a precursorsry Surge of the bags, but today it was carefully scrutinized, and all the food items were taken. ( You can pick them up when you leave. There is no healthy food at the snack bar, so you’re forced to go out into the mall to get something to eat, or go out your car and get your stuff and eat, or not eat. It was completely disheartening, as I took our stuff back out to the car and now we don’t have any healthy snacks and, to top it all off the snack bar registers is broken so that was a hot mess too! And we’re gonna leave early.

"Daisy Girl Scout Troop"

Our Girl Scout Troop had a fantastic field trip to the Crayola Experience. We had 1st graders and they all loved it! We went on a week day. A Wednesday to be exact. We did wait in line to get in but it moved rather quickly. Once in you can move about freely. If an experience/attraction was busy we bypassed it and backtracked later. We did wait in line for some things but it wasn't like a disney world line - they were not terribly long. There is so much to do so....I surprised when people stayed negative about it. We saw an artist outside chalking, we went to the theater, did spin art, made crayon rings, made our own label for a crayon of our choice, colored scribble scrubbies - washed them and did again (you get to keep it!), cartoon yourself, boat experience, made a puzzle, made a coloring page with ourself in it, there was a lab which had a bunch of activities - make the bulb light up, find the code, etc.... there was places to just color, you get a free small modeling clay color of your choice -- there is a play area -- it isn't large and it's crowded and loud. So I listed about a dozen things we did! Now the not so good -- but I still gave it a 5 rating for all the fun we had. The food- it wasn't bad but it was expensive! $5.99 for a hot dog!! Meals with a drink and side was $13.99. I would have left and ate elsewhere if I was not with a group. There is a place outside the back door that advertised kids meals for $6.99!! You can get a stamp to re-enter. Also as large as the gift shop is they do not sell patches! I asked and the lady was very kind and said that people ask for them all the time! Please sell patches!! My troop was very disappointed not to get a patch -- they would have wore it with pride and it's free advertising for you!

"Disappointed"

We arrived around 1230 on a Monday with my 6 year and 7 year old. There were several camp groups in addition to many families. For the price we paid for entry, we were disappointed. Lines were long, the play center too crowded. I miss the room that showed how crayons were made. There are things you need to pay extra for. I feel like this is probably good for about 2-5 years old. We would have enjoyed it more if everything had not been a 30+ minute wait.
