Courtyard by Marriott Lake George in Lake George, NY

We recently stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Lake George and have to say the one person that stood out throughout this entire weekend trip was the front desk person named Zaya. First we arrived on Friday November 8th at almost midnight with a screaming 2 year old and two other very exhausted children. I originally booked my stay through Expedia and they must have cancelled it without my knowledge as our reservation was no where to be found. Zaya was calm, even through my toddlers desperate cries from the exhaustion of the trip there. She was able to book us a spectacular room for my family of 5 (thankfully, 2 beds !!) and was able to keep it at the price we paid for in Expedia. The next morning she greeted us and was jsut very friendly and sweet to our kids. I will admit, this is my first review on a hotel employee and that's because Zaya truly saved our little family road trip for my daughter's golden birthday !! My family and I are already booking out next stay over the summer at Lake George and we sincerely hope to be greeted by Zaya once again !!

Jamison at the bar @ Charley’s was helpful with the menu options and suggested a fine Riesling to pair it with salmon dinner. He quite knowledgeable about the area and was a great bar tender. 10 out of 10 service. Going to make Charley’s a annual stop along the way!

We had a nice stay, rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable and most of the staff was excellent and accommodating. What wasn’t so good was the front desk receptionist when we checked in on Saturday. We came from another hotel so we knew we were checking in early and we explained that we knew we were early but just wanted to let her know that we’re here and to see if a room might be ready. It wasn’t and that was totally fine because like I said we were early. However, her attitude was terrible. She wouldn’t look up at us when we were speaking to her and then told us we were “confused” about the check in time. No, we weren’t confused and we had already explained that we knew we were early. But she probably didn’t hear that because she was too busy looking down doing other things, like we were boring her. She didn’t even say have a nice day or see you soon, nothing, just that she was sorry we were “confused”. When we left on Sunday, she was training someone and that is very scary! This woman needs re training herself. The front desk is the first impression people have of a place and to have an awful receptionist just leaves you with a bad feeling. We came back 5 hours later and our room wasn’t ready. She wasn’t there thankfully but the manager was and he found us another room that WAS available so we didn’t have to hang out in the lobby all day. He had good eye contact and asked us what brought us to Lake George, etc. He was outstanding and I wish I could remember his name. Top notch customer service from him and everyone else at the front desk. Housekeeping was very friendly. I had to take away a star because our first impression of the place was that we wanted to leave and check in somewhere else. We have been vacationing in Lake George for decades (but this was our first time staying at the Marriott) and only ran into one other snotty receptionist in all these years.

The staff did an awesome job with our daughters wedding. Very attentive to our needs. The food was amazing. Had spectacular views and just a great setting for a wedding. Everyone commented on the great service, great food and the great time they had.

Our 2nd fall trip to this beautiful Marriott property in Lake George, NY. You cannot beat the location and the views! Staff that deserves recognition: Kyle (front desk) who gladly put our cooler freezer packs in the freezer! Spencer fax'd an important document for us; Shelby Ann the bartender was professional and so friendly; Jeremy and Trish were helpful and accommodating at check -in and check -out! The housekeeping staff deserves recognition as well, they were fabulous. We enjoyed the bar; the food; the coffee bar; the rooftop and the comfortable seating located throughout the lobby area. The balcony is worth the little bit of extra money.....the high top table and chairs are the perfect place to overlook the quaint Lake George "downtown". We will be back! Thank you to ALL for an amazing 3 days!
