Courtyard by Marriott Lake George in Lake George, NY

Highly recommended for new-like feel, bed set up and Lake views! (And a note of frustration/advice) for Platinum & up. We booked the Courtyard Lake George last minute for a weekend of skiing Gore (easy 35 min drive) It felt very new, clean and had 2-king rooms which was a total game changer for my family of 4. If only every hotel had this (although rare the courtyards with 2 queens and a single pull-out are even better for larger families of course). We asked and were granted an upgrade to a balcony lake view which has a nice view of the lake (across the street with some buildings in the way). Much appreciated!!! It was freezing so we didn’t use the balcony but it has nice furniture on it for summer. There is also a roof deck but we didn’t see it. Hotel has a small pool, tiny gym and laundry. Parking was free and convenient. We used the EV charger spots. Room was clean at check in (most importantly). They supposedly clean rooms daily, but aside from getting new towels and making the beds, I don’t know that our room was cleaned. The toilet/bathroom was not for sure. Not a big deal for a 2 night stay but worth noting. If you are Platinum or Above…make sure you get the benefits you are entitled to. When we checked in, we were not asked if we wanted a points or the 2 x$10 credits per night we are entitled to for being Platinum. I don’t like when Marriotts don’t ask. It’s poor customer service and I know they’d rather give points. Worse though, when I realized it and asked an hour or 2 after check in, I was told I could not switch that day but after asking again, I was told I could switch it for the next day. Obviously the measly 500 points had not been deposited yet so this is clearly a policy (which I’ve seen before) to try to avoid giving a guest the $40 platinum credit that we would have been entitled to for 2 of us for 2 nights even if only using them for water and snacks). Perhaps more importantly, there is technically no Bistro at this Courtyard. Despite having what looks a lot like a Courtyard “Bistro”, the bar and coffee shop that are INSIDE the hotel (with no door separating the bar and the open lobby) is apparently not owned by the hotel. And this Courtyard doesn’t have a deal like other Marriotts with separate restaurants do that allows F&B credits to be used there at all. F&B credits (if you are lucky enough to get them) can only be used for a small selection of marketplace snacks. Since the hotel doesn’t give you any water bottles and also doesn’t have a water bottle filling station which is a bummer in 2025, you can easily spend $20/day buying water in that marketplace so don’t forget to get that credit! The restaurant attached is Charlie’s. The waitress (1/19 evening) was noticeably amazing. She was so nice and attentive despite doing 9 jobs at once! Food was very good. Atmosphere is bright LED lights and basically “Courtyard Lobby decor” (ugg) where we had dinner in the bar area. For breakfast (good and reasonable) we were able to eat in the restaurant area which was cuter. We also ate dinner at the Olde Log and that restaurant is wonderful and cozy!

The Lake George Marriott is one of the best week end get away hotels we've ever stayed at. The staff was great, the hotel is clean and really well decorated for the holiday, warm and cozy lounge with a nice fireplace. We loved our room balcony for the lake view and for watching the fireworks at midnight. Several great amenities - coffee in the afternoon, cocktails in the evening, and then breakfast at Charlie's. We look forward to going to this hotel often.

Love this hotel!! Staff is great. The bar is hopping most nights and the restaurant serves great food. In addition it is very clean and well maintained. Its location is right in the center of the village so its close to everything. Lake-view rooms come with a great balcony and view.

You have to splurge and get a balcony room view! We went for New Years Eve for the fireworks. We go in the summer too for a few days. It's so nice to sit on the balcony and people watch. We have an adult beverage, cheese and crackers...so relaxing.

Ate at Charlie’s Bar and the bartender Jamison was terrific! Place was very busy on 12/26/24 and he handled the place 100% professionally. Cool, calm, attentive while still engaging with all the customers! He's a excellent representative for Marriott. We were pleasantly surprised how delicious all the food was too!
