Well located in the city, with views of the river. Easy walking around the city, close to train station, easy walk to Orangeline for Midway. Loved the free laundry facilities and coffee. Shower had amazing pressure. Bed was super comfortable.

Warning on taking a small king size room for the cheapest rate hereas depending on where end up, could be a less than best experience. Prior stay having booked king with city view was far more accommodating and comfortable room with working tv and internet. Still a great value for location location location, just less impressed this stay with room amenities and comfort of room heating and ventilation, as well as bed.

Great friendly staff - front desk, housekeeping ' very polite and helpful. Great location - steps from Michigan Avenue and the river. Plenty of Great places to eat nearby. The room was clean and quiet, no view though ( you see a wall). But worth it for the price

This is a beautiful, comfortable Art Deco hotel with beds that tempt you to curl up and stay in all day. The staff is wonderful. They helped me with everything from checking in and getting. my luggage to my room to telling me the history of the hotel and buildings around it. My every request for service was professionally and happily fulfilled with immediacy.

The River Hotel Chicago is a good option for those looking for a prime location in the city. Pros: • Fast and easy check-in/check-out, self-managed through machines. • Complimentary Coffee and cappuccino station on the second floor, available 24/7. • Meeting room and comfortable sofas in common areas. • Free bottled water on every floor. • Elevators work well, with expected wait times. • Excellent location: right across from Trump Tower, steps from Michigan Ave (400 block), where the architecture boat tours depart. Just 3 blocks from Millennium Park and the Chicago Cultural Center, and 4 blocks from Starbucks Reserve. Cons: • Housekeeping is not daily, you must ask for it. • Mattress and pillows are too soft. • No safe or shelves for clothes, just a small space for luggage and hanging clothes. • Spacious and comfortable bathroom, but the standard room may feel basic.
