Carowinds is located adjacent to Interstate 77 near the North and South Carolina border at 300 Carowinds Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28273.
Parking is $25 per vehicle for single day parking and $35 per vehicle for single day VIP parking. A limited number of handicap parking spaces are available near the Front Gate on a first-come, first-served basis. Carowinds no longer accepts cash at the toll gates.
Carowinds does not offer a non-rider discount. Carowinds has a one-price admission as it is a multi-faceted park, not just a ride park. Live entertainment abounds at the park with fun-filled shows and performers. The park also offers a variety of gift shops, restaurants, a water park that is included with park admission and much more.
Children ages two and younger are admitted free and do not require a Carowinds ticket.

Rides may close under certain weather conditions, particularly rain, high winds and/or lightning. It is not possible to provide a specific answer regarding which rides close or remain open because varying degrees of inclement weather cause different effects on different rides. The rides affected the most by inclement weather are the roller coasters and the high rides. Carowinds makes every effort to reopen the rides as quickly and safely as possible after the adverse weather conditions cease. Unfortunately, we do not offer rain checks or refunds.
No outside food or beverage is allowed inside Carowinds.* Bags are subject to search before entering. Grilling in the parking lot is also prohibited. Lockers are available to rent inside the park at the North Gate and South Gate entrances, Thrill Zone next to Fury 325, Blue Ridge Junction next to Copperhead Strike, and at Carolina Harbor Waterpark (at Surf Club Harbor and Tidal Wave Bay). Rentals vary in size and prices differ among locker locations.
Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times. Swimwear must be sufficiently covered. Profanity, obscene gestures and statements, pictures of illegal substances, insignia of paramilitary groups, all gang-related items on clothing, costumes or disguises that conceal identity are prohibited and admission to the park may be refused.
Carowinds tickets include admission to Carowinds amusement park as well as free park admission to Carolina Harbor Waterpark (seasonal). Tickets are not valid for SCarowinds, separately ticketed events, concerts or park buyouts, unless otherwise indicated.

No. Cameras, GoPros, cell phones, or other any recording devices (photography or video) are prohibited on all rides and attractions to ensure the safety of the guests and associates. Violation of this policy is subject to park dismissal. Selfie sticks are permitted in the park, but their use is strictly prohibited on any ride due to potential safety risks. Violation of this policy may lead to dismissal from the park. All drones (Unmanned Aerial Systems) are prohibited at (in) all Cedar Fair parks, including Carowinds. Any unauthorized drone(s) observed over Carowinds will be reported to the FAA and local law enforcement, regardless of its point of origin or operation.
For the comfort of all guests, smoking of any kind, including vapor and e-cigarettes, is only permitted in the designated smoking area outside of the North Gate. Specific locations can be found on Carowinds' mobile app.
The safety of the guests and associates is their number one priority, and they have implemented several enhanced security procedures at the front gate. Guests arriving at the park will go through metal detection every public operating day. All bags, purses, backpacks, waist packs, etc. are subject to inspection prior to entering. Sharp objects (including pocket knives and metal chains), firearms, or other items that could be considered a weapon are strictly prohibited and should be left at home or secured in your vehicle. They use a variety of methods to secure the park, including uniformed and plain clothes officers and video surveillance monitoring. Carowinds does not tolerate guests who fight and/or harass other guests while on the property. People who engage this behavior are subject to being ejected and potentially banned from the park and may be subject to arrest by local police.
Please secure all loose articles such as glasses, cell phones, pagers, loose change, cameras, keys, clothing, sunglasses, hats, wallets, etc., before boarding a ride. If you’ve lost something, please visit Guest Services, located near the North Gate, before you leave the park, or report your loss on their website. Please note that if you’ve lost an item on one of the rides, they may not be able to retrieve it immediately. All items found in the ride areas are returned to the lost and found office at the end of the day. Items may be discarded after two (2) weeks. Carowinds is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or broken items.
Stroller and wheelchair rentals are located next to Guest Services at the North Gate Entrance. Please note, a valid form of identification, including a driver’s license, state I.D., or military I.D, must be presented to rent a manual or electric wheelchair. Rates are as follows: - Single Stroller: $17.00 - no deposit - Double Stroller: $22.00 - no deposit - Manual Wheelchair: $20.00 - no deposit - Electric Wheelchair: $65.00 - no deposit *Prices are subject to change without notice. Carowinds associates are responsible vendors, follow strict I.D. guidelines, and reserve the right to refuse alcohol service as deemed necessary. Guests must be 21-years-old to purchase, possess or consume alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages must be consumed within designated areas. Alcohol sales end one hour prior to scheduled park closing, or at park management's discretion. Guests must present valid I.D. at all times. Guests will only be served one alcoholic beverage per transaction, per I.D. Valid I.D. includes current driver's license, military I.D. with photo, state I.D. with photo, and passports.
No. Under the chaperone policy, all guests ages 15 years old or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old to be admitted to and remain in the park. The policy will be in effect daily by 4:00 p.m. local time – Carowinds reserves the right to begin enforcing the Chaperone Policy earlier on any given day. The chaperone must present a valid government-issued photo identification with date of birth at ticket entry. One (1) chaperone may accompany no more than ten (10) guests ages 15 or younger per day. In addition, the chaperone must accompany their party during entry, remain inside the park during their visit, and be available by phone throughout their stay. Guests 16 years of age or older may be asked to present a valid government issued photo identification (Driver's license, State Issued ID Card, Passport) with date of birth at entry to verify their age. If unable to verify proof of age, guests may be denied entry into the park. Guests aged 15 years old or younger who are found inside the park unaccompanied by a chaperone when the Chaperone Policy is in effect will be subject to ejection. This chaperone requirement applies to all guests attending Carowinds.
