We did not get the suite we discussed with reservations. We booked through there reservation service. And the person told me we would get 2 queen beds in one bedroom and 1 queen in the other. When we arrived we got a 2 bed room and we're basically told to deal with it. They said if we left right then they would refund 1 night at $320.00 The units are nice and clean enough and are in a nice setting. But buyer beware! You can get a cabin near by for less than you can get this 1 bed condo. And they will try selling you a timeshare if you pay full price or not. Absolutely NOT worth $320 per night. And the attitude of the staff is awful. Plus the place is packed in with people like New York City. Way, way, way too many people for an enjoyable vacation. Everything here appears to be staged to sell time shares. You feel like a mouse in a mouse trap. Also I stopped and talked to a few locals in Pigon Forge and they all said they have never heard anything but bad stories about this place.

We arrived at Westgate after a 9-hour drive, only to wait in line for about 2 hours just to check in. There were only two staff members working, and while we waited, a Bingo game was going on nearby, making it really hard to hear the person checking us in. When we finally got to the front, they sent us straight to the ticket counter without asking and signed us up for a timeshare presentation—again, without any explanation. We eventually made it to our room, with no help, and had to walk past a gate to get there. But when we walked in, the room was nothing like what we expected. We had to head all the way back down the hill to request a new room—the one we had actually paid for. They told us it was a “mis-click.” Once we got into the correct room, it was nice, but there was no view, which was disappointing since we came all this way for that exact reason. We also had to attend the timeshare experience, which lasted way longer than the promised 90 minutes. The tour itself wasn’t as impressive as we were led to believe—we only saw parts of the property we had already walked through. One plus was that we got free parking downtown to visit the strip in Gatlinburg. But overall, the experience was disappointing, and I wouldn’t choose to stay there again.

"Average Water Park"

This water park was average. There was a toddler splash area that was warm. The playground area with a water dump bucket was freezing cold. There were two hot tubs that were above warm, but not hot. There is a large tube slide and a body slide. There is a lazy river that is warmish and a pool that has basketball in it. It looked as though they were doing quite a bit of renovations. Towels are available free of charge. There are lockers for rent and food and drinks for purchase. There are locker rooms, but no changing stalls- only toilets and one tiny shower. Also, apparently even though it’s indoors, if there is thunder they shut down. It is significantly cheaper than the other indoor waterparks in the area. We bought day passes for $35 for adults and $25 for kid. Our 9 year old had a great time- the rest of us not as much. We probably wouldn’t come back here again.

"Mostly amazing!!"

This place was amazing. All of the staff were so nice and accommodating. The amenities were also very good, the gym was nice, and the pool/hot tub was great too. The location is about in the middle of Gatlinburg and piegon forge so it wasn’t far from either spot. The only reason why I’d give this place 4 stars instead of 5 was because the walls were very thin. We stayed on the bottom floor, and we heard lots of movement from upstairs, especially late at night when we were trying to sleep. Our neighbors did laundry at midnight and the loudness from the machine kept us up super late. However I would definitely come back to this resort and I’ve already recommended it to my friends! Also, the restaurant at the hotel was probably my favorite bite I had my entire trip!

"Wouldn’t Return"

We were gifted a week here after my husband and I got married. We were so excited and ready to relax and enjoy Gatlinburg. When we first checked in we were asked what dinner and shows we were looking into and was told they can give us tickets at a discount and told us all the tickets are VIP. Little did we know this entailed going to a meeting 2 days after we arrived with a $50 deposit. None of our tickets were VIP. When we arrived to our room, at first glance it was nice. However after walking around, attention to detail when cleaning can definitely be improved. For example there was dirt on the light switches. The room did not smell fresh and clean. The sheets and towels smelled musty- I went to Walmart and bought my own laundry soap and bleach and rewashed everything. When we turned on the TV - they give you maybe 20 channels and half of them are in Spanish. So, on that Walmart trip we bought a Roku just so we can enjoy something in the room. The day of the “meeting” we let them know we have an appointment at 12pm at the spa which we were promised we would be out before then. The concierge people are relentless and even brought out foreclosure units just so they can get a sale. My husband and I both expressed we just had a big wedding and are unable to make a purchase like this right now multiple times and multiple people came to us trying to get a sale. We were late to our appointment and had to reschedule. A corporate representative who stated she has been with the company for 32 years came over to try to get a sale from us and she was so unprofessional to the concierge employee and belittling him. The day we were checking out-As soon as I opened the door to load the car there was a huge bag of towels blocking the way of me leaving. We had 2 housekeepers literally waiting at the door while we were loading bags in the car and even tried to come in at one point and we expressed we had more things to get. It was so uncomfortable I even left with my slippers on. Check out is at 10AM and this was a little before 9AM. We were there for 5 days and were wondering where all these shuttles were going and coming. We were never told there was shuttling services if we would like to go down to the lobby, restaurant, waterpark, etc. They offered us a great deal for a vacation and it was affordable, however, after staying here I will never stay at another Westgate again and much rather pay more somewhere else then return. We are not picky visitors, don’t complain when we stay somewhere. But, I needed to come on here and share our experience to hopefully help someone out.
