Ramada Gateway Hotel in Kissimmee, FL

So we booked a budget package from Glasgow to Orlando with only a few months notice, we got it at a good price flights, hotel and transfers under £900 each perfect we thought. No issues with flights, perfect transfers and arrived at hotel. So here we are 28th October checking into hotel, now I am no novice of travelling and hotels so I was aware that we had to pay a credit card deposit to hold incase of any damages that we would loose deposit. Fully accept this and I have paid it may times on other holidays around the world no issues. What I wasn't expecting was to be home 5 days and notice on my credit card £160 charge! Sorry what? Couldn't understand what this was for so I emailed. I got a response back saying that this was our charge for resort fees! Resort fees? No one mentioned resort fees at check-in, check out or during our stay! Now I have paid resort fees before but this normally around £20/$30 for the week maybe slightly more for 2 weeks but not £160/$200. It was a budget hotel I was staying in not the Grand Floridian ( which i called and enquired about, they said the resort fees for them is $5 per day) this still doesn't equate to £160/$200. So what am I paying these grand fees for? According to websites and other travel forums that I had to dig through apparently I was paying for house keeping ( which we only received for 4 days worth out of 10 and that was them making beds and changing towels) rest of the time they were no where to be seen and I had to get towels myself on 3 occasions. Bedding wasn't changed at all! Shuttle bus - so this is advertised on their website and even the nice piece of paper you get on check in as complimentary shuttle to parks? How is it complimentary if I am paying it in resort fees? Also bus times are shocking 7am pick up to go to universal which doesn't open till 9am so have to wait an hour outside the park because you are there too early and the return bus is at 8pm, 3hours after the parks close so wait about again ( i ended up getting Lyft) Sporting facilities - never knew they had any to use but apparently I'm paying for it. Phone calls - nope that's why I have a mobile phone. Fitness centre - never used it, partner looked in at it and came back and said not to as well the smell and unclean equipment would put anyone off going to the gym. Beach towels - the skimpy wee towels that are provided next to the pool that not even a child could wrap around them? Used one once after taking my own. Concierge Service - what Concierge? There was a booth selling park tickets is that the Concierge? Again apparently I'm paying for that too. In room coffee - believe it or not, not everyone likes coffee! I'm a tea drinker and couldn't get a kettle,so the coffee machine was never used and was left as it was found but I'm still paying for it. Pool Access - yes something i used twice, not worth the money. Additional Inclusions - now this stumped me as this could be literally anything or a fancy way of saying just to let you know we are going to scam your credit card for $200 and say it's a resort fee! Because that's what it looks like. I have emailed and not got a response, I have complained to my travel agency that I booked with and I will be contacting my credit card company to say that this was an unauthorised transaction and theft from my account. There was no where, no documentation, no information given that anyone would have to pay resort fees, now in my mind if I someone takes something out your bank without your knowledge or agreement that is plain and simple theft. I have asked for proof from the hotel where it says they can take any more money except the deposit off of my credit card and that I have signed it. They won't be able to provide proof as there is none. I want this money returned to me ASAP! Are we even sure the parent company knows what they are charging? Maybe I shall give them a call and see, something tells me they won't know.

Instead of being in the hotel tower part, we were put in the furthest motel section even though the place seemed empty. NO working vending machines in the entire place and the staff was very unhelpful. Room had a moldy smell and had very dim lighting. Park shuttle was inconvenient.

We enjoyed the weekend It’s was a great trip The room at Ramada was good Me and my family like it We drunk the coffee at the little coffee machine. We went to grab some ice in the ice machine at the hotel Another thing was the parking space was a courtesy of the hotel Thank you very much

Our stay was comfortable and pleasant due to the Atmosphere of feeling welcome all the staff was caring and made sure our needs were meet KUDOS to the entire Staff and the rooms were clean and comfortable and beds slept nicely it was well worth choosing Ramada the Tower‼️

The Ramada was nice and clean, and had friendly service. The location was excellent for the purpose of our trip; however the mattresses on the beds were very uncomfortable and need updating!! And the carpet!in the halls was filthy and needed to be cleaned.
