"A Wonderful Hotel in So Many Ways!"

First, I’m pretty familiar with Colonial Williamsburg and its hotels including the Lodge and Inn. My husband and I went every year of our marriage for the most part. The fall package we got last week was by far the best priced package I ever got. The hotel is lovely. Homey, Clean, Family Friendly. The staff is exceptional. We loved saying good morning to Jennifer as we began our day. The rooms were clean and neat. There were plenty of towels and anything else you might need. My one complaint is the firmness of the bed. It was quite rock like. Way too firm for me. If you like a super ultra firm bed? You are in luck. There was ample and close parking at all times. You are so close to the restored area, you can reach it on foot in minutes. Same with the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor’s Center. It’s literally across the parking lot. The continental breakfast?? Simply wonderful. You name it, they had it. Waffles, breakfast sandwiches, turkey sausages, varieties of cold cereal, several milk and juice choices and coffee choices. Bagels, Toast, Muffins, fresh fruit like apples and bananas and packaged cut fruit like pineapple and cantaloupe and strawberries. The yummy Otis Spunkmeyer Chocolate and Banana Nut Muffins, Oatmeal with toppings and more. This was INCLUDED in our package which for all the people I saw a great economical perk. Lots of families with children were there as well. Seating was at a premium, BUT so Many kind people would share their larger table so its was really nice. The warmth of their beautiful stone fireplace was inviting. I’ve been to this hotel years ago when Cascades was the restaurant and its ambience was beautiful with lovely romantic nighttime views. That is gone. The eatery is closed as well for the present time so breakfast is the only available meal in this hotel. In our Fall Package we also got length of stay tickets to the restored area and houses which was great. I can’t say enough about this wonderful place. Second con: the hotel and I’m Laughing writing this, is like a maze. In the four days we stayed there, we got on the wrong elevator bay and the hotel has miles of hallways that all look alike and we kept going the wrong way. Thank goodness for the staff who laughed with us too. They didn’t mind re-routing us as many people have the same problem. Highly recommend this hotel for couples, friends or families. I will definitely be back!! A true deal!!

Room was ok, a little outdated but charming. My issue was the bathroom toilet was not working and was never fixed during my stay. Breakfast was good, good variety and coffee was good. Reception staff was friendly but didn't solve our issue or offered any compensation

This place was fantastic. There were so many things to do here- mini golf, table tennis, air hockey, etc. Not to mention, 2 tickets to colonial williamsburg were included. The breakfast spread was fantastic. The hotel was clean and friendly and you could walk to all things in Colonial Williamsburg. I wish we had spent more than one night there. There were so many things to do.

Our suite at The woods of Williamsburg are very pleasant, and clean. From the moment we arrived the staff was attentive to our every need. Check-in and check-out were efficiently handled and the staff offered many suggestions to enhance our stay at Colonial Williamsburg. Plus, one of nicest fitness facilities I've ever found in a hotel!

"Expected Better…."

The lobby is beautiful. Front desk staff is friendly. Rooms appear dated but I can see where the theme is more of a colonial theme. The layout of this hotel is strange. Had to walk down two long hallways to get to the elevator. Rooms were clean. Beds are AWFUL. Had trouble sleeping. WiFi here is nonexistent and cell phone service is spotty at best. Breakfast is mediocre - processed breakfast sandwiches, cereal, processed waffles (that you can toast), breads, yogurt. No cream cheese for bagels. The only good things I’ll say about breakfast is they have fresh cut fruit - melon and strawberries as well as gluten free items. Seating in the breakfast area can be difficult to come across, thankfully there’s additional seating in the lobby and outside in the courtyard. During our stay our toilet stopped refilling and the card reader on our door died, however the front desk were able to assist us.
