Wet 'n Wild's public relations response team sounds very defensive. "You should have known that" "That's how we do things" "It's your fault" etc. Who treats their guests like that? Should have read the reviews first, but I've purchased tickets, so my fingers are crossed. Assuming it's possible, I'll update my review next week.

"Swim Shirt Issue"
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5
Reviewed July 17, 2024
On Monday, my son was told he could not slide on the very first slide as we entered the park because he not have on the right type of shirt. He is very self-conscious and was almost in tears when he told me what the lifeguard said and that he could only wear a rash guard. As I watched other kids slide with same type of shirt on that my son was wearing, I was very disappointed that my son had his trip basically ruined because he refused to ride anymore rides because of what the lifeguard told him. So, I proceeded to ask the lifeguard why other kids could slide and my son was told he could not. Her response was because he didn't have on the right kind of shirt. I politely told her that the shirt was a swim sports shirt and the tag said that it was. My concern was that she let other kids (with the same swimshirt) go down the slide without any problems. I traveled 3 hours to this park one way and it will most likely be my last.

"Lots of rides but expensive food"

Our group consided of 6. 4 teens and 2 adults. 1. Get a cabana especially the Ocean View ones. You have a private place to eat, leave your items, relax away from the crowds. The ocean view cabanas have a fan and privacy fencing so you are secluded. Access to the cabanas is via wristband and staff is avaliable to bring you food/drinks if you desire. You get access to a hotel style safe, a cooler with water bottles, an electrical outlet as well to charge your phone and a nice view of the wave pool. 2. Pre-pay for parking to be able to print out the parking voucher. Should you need to leave the park before they close and come back the parking voucher is your "return ticket". We needed some items from CVS (medication) so part of out party left and came back with no issue. 3. There are rides for all ages from babies to toddlers to teens/adults. The baby/toddler section is on the far right when you enter the park and has its own gated area and smaller cabanas as well. The lazy river is on that side. The middle is the main teens rides/slides where the action is all at. The left side.of park is the wave pool, the bulk.of the food places and the beer garden. The wave pool is ok. Wisconsin Dells best it in terms of a pool with multiple waves at a time. This pool does 2 waves and then stops for 5 to 7 minutes before doing 2 more. 4. The staff if friendly and their is metal detectors and bag searches at the gate as well as police on site so no issues of trouble at the park. 5. The food is a toss up. Look you are NOT coming here for the food. It's mediocre at best and way overpriced. $14 for the majority of meals which is a burger/hotdog/3 chicken fingers/chicken sandwich/popcorn chicken bites/turkey wrap/chicken wrap/salad plus fries plus drink. Don't bother getting the meal vouchers ahead of time. you are NOT saving any money buying those vs just paying. DO however get the $20 u limited drink cup. You will be thirty a d the lemonade and water help through the day. The cabanas have the option of ordering a whole size pizza for $34 which can help.offset the cost of food.

"Not cheap, but manageable"

The amount of fun you have here depends entirely upon how you plan. They don't put food prices on the website, but If you eat at one of the food stands, like the pizza place or the burger place, each tray costs about 15 bucks. Drinks are five bucks, but a souvenir cup with free refills costs about 20. The souvenir cup is good for the whole season. They allow one 12x12 Soft-Sided cooler per person through the gate. So if you want to pack your lunch , you can do so and save money. If you live close enough to visit more than twice during the summer, it is completely worth it to get a season pass. By the third visit you are getting in free. If you plan far enough in advance, you can rent a cabana starting around 80 bucks. This guarantees. You always have a chair And shade. Otherwise, make sure you get there by 9:30 so you can be right up front for the mad dash To the loungers that are under the umbrellas. Depending upon the day you go, there is always seating around the tables close to the dining areas. Provided the place isn't crowded, nobody will trouble you if you set up camp around one of those tables. Saturdays are the days with the longest lines. If you can pick a day during the week, you will deal with less frustration in that regard. Be aware, they will not let you wear water, shoes or goggles on any of the slides. This is for safety's sake. If you are only getting a day admission, there are all sorts of opportunities for discounts. Check the website frequently for information on that. Military discount is always available. If you bank with the North Carolina state employees credit Union, you can get discounted tickets through them. Also, check with your employer. Many large employers in North Carolina offer discounted tickets to wet and Wild, as well as other parks in North Carolina. Like I said, it can be expensive.. or it can be manageable if plan properly.
