Westgate Branson Woods Resort in Branson, MO

I liked that the property was off the main strip. Everything was clean and worked properly. I liked that they put us on the ground floor, but if you don't like kids running and stomping above you then be sure and ask for a room in one of the single-story buildings up by the main building. I guess the reason we didn't get one of the buildings we requested is because we booked through Expedia and not direct. I hate Expedia; it took me two days to finally get some sort of receipt that showed what card I used. Always book direct! We loved the property. We enjoyed the walking trails by the waterfall in the day and we played ping-pong at night in front of the Marketplace. I guess it was ok that there was a gated entrance and we had to slow down and show our parking pass every time we came in - even though I think that is a little overboard for Branson. But the only thing we really didn't like was how convoluted it was just to check in. The people were nice, there was just way too many of them involved in simply checking in. And the reason for it is something that will probably keep us from staying at any of their properties in the future..... The gate guy to the completely unnecessary lady at a podium at the front doors that showed us how to walk around the corner to the check-in desk, to the check-in folks that took way too long and scanned my driver's license more thoroughly than they do at the Pentagon were all a funnel to get me to the "Concierge" who would give me my parking pass. And while she's making the parking pass she's doing small talk and asking questions. And you don't realize that the answers you're giving her are going to end up landing you in a resort or timeshare presentation. She offers a free breakfast and a $100 visa gift card and has you all of a sudden backing out of what you'd be doing in the morning so you won't end up trapped in a presentation. After I told her I'd have to check our morning plans with my wife before I could commit she was suddenly no longer interested in anything about me. I mean she was done with me and I felt her attitude severely shift. I'm really sick of constantly being SOLD to. Our phone texts aren't even private anymore; we get spam texts all the time. When I go stay out of town for fun or relaxation I really just want to be left in peace and not have to always be saying "no thank you" to someone for something they are selling. And I can't stand when I think I can relax and let my guard down and then suddenly I'm ambushed and have to put my work brain back in gear and start negotiating my way out of something. So I've had no choice but to put all of the Westgate Resort locations on my "Avoid due to sales pitches" list. If they just would have given us a card or brochure with our room key that said "Hey! Not sure if you're aware, but we have resorts in all your favorite destinations! Here's the list:" that, and the fact that I would not have been ambushed, would have made me actually want to seek to stay at their other properties. But now I feel they can't be trusted to not sales-pitch me so sadly I must avoid them.

We had a great time. The only negative is that the indoor pool is TINY and their were no onsite activities. Fortunately, we were able to use an indoor pool at another resort (thankfully) that my Mom was trying out. Having an indoor pool is important to my kids. :) This was our second time at Westgate and we LOVED our two-bedroom cabin!!

Nice quite resort ,great mattress and bedding and towels but cabins needs some updating furniture and carpets are old and needs replaced no wifi ....very few tv channels.. headboard was loose ..telephone didnt work but they where quick to fix and it was clean this is our second stay and we enjoyed the porches and jacuzzi tub

Involuntarily changed from one property to another despite confirmation number during our 10+ hour drive to Branson. Suite is nice and renovated. There is a timeshare now called “vacation club” pitch you get in order to get your parking pass. Told them I was going to think about it and gave them a wrong phone number. No pressure since then. Indoor pool has been closed for the whole trip. Overall nice but you don’t fall into the timeshare trap.

Great choice for families when visiting the Branson area. We have stayed at several good hotels in the area over the last few decades. This property is the best experience for lodging in the area, in our humble opinion. Super clean, well staffed, more than the usual amenities. No disappointments. We would recommend and will be back.
