"Truly a theme-park-quality ride that adults should enjoy as much as kids!"

This ride is all about the only pirate ever to attack California, Captain Hippolyte Bouchard, when he raided a fort in Monterey Bay in 1818 hunting for booty, and I can tell you that this fun attraction is a treasure all its own! You'd expect to find a ride like this at Disneyland or Universal Hollywood, but not in Monterey. Treasure Hunt is located near the beach where Bouchard actually landed his ships, and the adventure takes you down into the caverns where he and his men supposedly stashed all of their treasure. The escapade, which lasts about 20 minutes, includes a pre-show, a supposed elevator trip 300 feet down into the caverns, and the ride itself. There are also funny jokes and gags throughout! The exciting interactive shooting ride is surely the highlight of the experience, but the incredibly detailed theming is a close second. Most riders are probably so focused on the shooting game that they don't have the chance to take in all the wonderful theming, so I'd suggest paying just $5 more so you can get unlimited rides on Treasure Hunt, and then after enjoying the interactive shooting ride, go on the journey again and just take in the crafted surroundings. The company that operates the ride, Daniels Wood Land, also created the theming, and the detail and artifacts are fantastic. The whole experience is packed with this stuff, including animatronic characters provided by Sally Dark Rides. This is important, because the storyline of Bouchard the pirate runs all the way through the experience. I think this is one ride that adults will enjoy as much as kids.

We absolutely loved this experience. This was like The Pirates of The Caribbean meets the Buzz Light Year Ride at Disneyland. The shooting game was so much fun, and the set design was EPIC! It’s a good price too for the experience. I highly recommend this experience.

It was quiet when we visited on a Friday lunchtime, so we got straight on. The pre-show is amusing and engaging. The ride itself pretty fun - the cart moves around and you shoot at the screens. Its well done - it is the equal of some of the rides at Disneyland for example. You can buy multiple rides but you need to do the pre-show over again.

Took the whole family to Monterey just to experience this. It was a lot of fun - we rode multiple times, and even then my boys wanted to ride again and again. It’s more that just a ride, it’s a short show, a ride, and a game. It’s amazing. Spectacular theming; great location. I hope the developer puts in more attractions like this.
