Great hotel for my stay in San Diego! The room was excellent, the bed was so comfortable, and all the staff were helpful and friendly. My room had light controls on the wall, which made everything so easy to use. The location was also great! I would highly recommend the Sofia for anyone traveling to SD.

"Try to stay at the Hilton or Marriott (or the Westin) if in town for a conference at the Convention Center."

Very tiny rooms, lots of dust,....small (full) beds.....no vacuuming of the carpets, tiny shower, no water provided in the room, or restaurant in the hotel. Luckily an expensive Starbucks next door & a nice Corner Bakery Shop across the street. Small standing showers only. I am not a man, and even as woman it was small shower. Bars of soap provided were the size of pinky finger. I now have a sinus infection post-check out from the carpet/dust I suspect.

The room was cramped and there was no water pressure in the shower. I stayed five nights for a conference. Amenities are minimal with only a small hotel gym on the second floor. Location is convenient from the airport with several restaurants nearby. Overall I would not recommend this hotel to others.

"Make sure your room gets sunlight, natural light or a view"

Our room 537 was dark and depressing. The windows looked at a wall 20 feet away. No sunlight, natural, direct or indirect, no view of anything except bricks. We could t see if it was sunny or overcast outside. Room itself was nice, the staff was very friendly, the location excellent.

We went for comic con and it was terrible probably one the worst hotel we’ve stayed at and we have been going for the past five years. The rooms are dated and tiny and the tv never worked the screen would just be blue even the the repairman was never able to fix it eventually we just stopped attempting to even watch the tv and even after this the manager still refused to switch our room. The view out was also terrible it just faces another room. Overall this hotel was overpriced and dated with non working tvs and tiny rooms.
