Wow!!! Our first experience at SLS is amazing! We travel a lot and their service is one of the best! From the moment we arrived, valet was kind and patient. Our suite was actually sold out and they kindly upgraded us. Kaylee at the front desk was extremely personable and considerate. We could tell she really put thought and compassion into the service she provided us. The room itself was clean, well-maintained, and a pleasure to stay in! The gym and pool are also kept in excellent condition. Have yet to try the food here, but so far, tremendously surprised and happy with our stay. The hotel is also close to big shopping areas and a short ride to Rodeo. Trader Joe’s is walking distance and so is Hot 8 if you’re a yoga enthusiast like myself - easily the best yoga spot nearby. We’re excited for the rest of our stay, and to return to the SLS!

We came to LA to get some warm(er) weather, visit a few colleges for one of our children and have some quality family time. The SLS Beverly Hills was a great place to have a home base. The location in relation to the various freeways worked well for all the destinations we had in mind. La Cienega Blvd seems to be a mini-restaurant row with fantastic restaurants just steps from the hotel. The Trader Joe's around the corner allowed us to stock up on a few snacks. The valet was excellent. Efficient and polite. It's s small driveway so when busy, can be difficult to navigate but they made it work very well. The lobby area was beautifully decorated for the holidays. We had two rooms, one for my wife and I, and one for the children. The children's room was on a different floor but since our kids are older, it was not really an issue. Our room had a walk out patio with nice chairs and an umbrella. I used it once but the weather we got in LA did not really lend to lounging outside. It would be a fantastic perk in warmer times. The room was clean, very spacious and well decorated but I would say a little "dated" once you start looking at the details. The kids' room had a normal shower. Our room had a giant soaking tub that doubled as our shower. The lip was high so caution is needed when getting in and out of the tub. The sink was basically a metal, industrial sink. I'm not sure I understood the "vibe" or the aesthetic of the sink; ultimately, it was fine. Highlight - Housekeeping was polite and thoughtful. I have the sleep with a CPAP machine which I had on the side table next to the bed. It must have looked crowded with my phone and ipad (etc) as by the 3rd night, they brought in a rolling table to accommodate everything. I did not ask for one. They saw a need and fixed it. That is the epitome of service. We had breakfast with our room every morning. The food was excellent and the service ranged from good to great, depending on how busy they were. I would recommend that they add maybe on or two more options to their menu as breakfast substitutions. Regardless, what they had was very good. We ordered room service once... efficient and fast. They had a NWE party which we did not attend but looked to be a lot of fun. We could hear the music but otherwise, we had no trouble sleeping. Summary - a very nice, older hotel with great service and a great location.

The hotel is okay but baffling why it's in Marriott's "Luxury Collection". Service across all areas was very hit or miss. The room was okay but nothing special and the traffic noise (even on the 6th floor) was constantly loud. The communal areas of the hotel are significantly lacking and what they do have is worn. One positive is that they are very pet friendly. Overall, I would not recommend.

Very MJ d , very caring , and great people. 11/10.
