Was charged a security deposit of 150 dollars and was told I would get that back in 2-3 business days. Been almost 2 weeks now and nothing. My 61 year old wife and I went. Very disappointed overall. John Balla. Reach me at jballa1964@yahoo.com. Thanks for your support

"Great arcade but I won't stay there again."

I booked a family room ( 2 adjoining rooms) in the Borboun Tower for my daughter's birthday, figured the waterpark was a good way to celebrate followed by some fun time at the arcade and go karts, well that was a bust. There's only 1 way up to the tower which consists of 6 elevators and only 2 were working the whole night and the next morning, we were in line for the elevators along with all the other families for at least 25-30 mins each time, going up or down, made us late for almost every plan we had that night. The next morning trying to get down to check out was even worse, we had to eventually take one of the 2 working elevators up to the the top floor just to get down to the lobby on time for check out. We waited over 30 mins for an elevator to go down and it wasnt happening. Each one was full as it stopped on our floor (8th) so we had to pass. The stairs aren't allowed to be used unless it's an emergency, we tried. They really need to get their elevators fixed and updated. There was another couple there who were late to the show they were attending that night bc the elevators were limited and slow. Needless to say I won't stay there again, the rooms were clean but beds are uncomfortable. I love that they are trying to rebuild that place and keep it going but they seriously need to do some more upgrading and fix their mechanical issues.

"Adequate hotel, water park is fun"
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5

The room was adequate, little outdated. The waterpark is big and new. Kids had fun riding all the slides. There were not really any places to eat in the hotel except for one place. Food was so-so. Could tell it was "off season" due to lack of people. Fine for a quick get away for winter.

"Cost Efficient experience"

I have been to several different water parks in the Pocanos. The waterpark at the Showboat Resort was subpar compared to the others. I’ve also been to Camel Back, Great Wolf, and Kalahari. This review is based on my experience at the waterpark, the hotel rooms, and the service I’ve received while at the park and before coming to the park. Water Park: The water park itself is nice, they had a spray area with a bucket to dump water on everyone in the spray park area and a kid's cove. If you have kids that are under 4, they are free to enter the park (as of writing this). My 3-year-old daughter was only able to use 1 slide due to height restrictions in Kid’s Cove (in which there is only 1 slide in that area). They do have a lazy river as well as a sports pool. One thing I noticed about the park was, that despite it having several water slides, there didn’t seem to be a wave pool within the park itself. The only “pool-type areas” within the park are the sports pool and the lazy river. There was an adult section (Swim Up Bar and Paradise Island) only. This seemed a little out of place, and I think these areas may need to be redesigned if this resort plans to be more kid-friendly. The majority of the slides were fine and probably good for kids close to teens and adults. Since my trip was during the winter, the rides with tubes that went outside had very cold water, as opposed to the ones that stayed inside. There is no massive 3 - 5 person ride at the water park either. Hotel Rooms: Since I was with a very large group (13) to celebrate a birthday, we stayed in 4 rooms total. Out of the 4 rooms, only two were connected. One Room was a master King suite w/ an attached king bed. The king suite itself was nice and it had a common area. There was no stove or large fridge. This room (along with the connecting room, had 3 bathrooms in total. (1 has a half bath) For some reason, only the half bathroom had hand soap. The other room was a Queen suite w/ an attached queen bed. The setup was a little similar to the king suite except the common area was smaller. (The fridge was smaller too) I was only at the resort for 1 night, however, there seemed to be a few things wrong with my room. I did not think it was worth mentioning to the front desk, since the stay was so short. The master king suite had a standing shower along with a jacuzzi tub. It seems like the room was very old as some of the things within the bathroom were falling apart. The handle for the cold water jacuzzi was able to be pulled off. There was no way to get cold water coming out of the tub. The jet tubes within the jacuzzi tub also seemed old and rusted. I couldn’t tell if that was by design, but that ultimately made me decide to use the shower instead. The shower had a face plate that was falling off of the handle. Service: The experience that I’ve had with the hotel staff seemed to vary greatly. I needed to make a change and request to get an additional water park pass since an additional person was coming and they were able to accommodate me, which I thought was amazing. I then found out 1 more person was coming at the last minute and tried calling the hotel again to let them know I’d need another water pass. However, the experience I got this time around was different. I got transferred to reservations, had to confirm my identity with the person I was speaking with, and was then told this would need to get escalated and a manager would have to approve my request. (No one got back to me within 24 hours, via email, call or text) I could not get a confirmation of whether a water park pass had been added before I called in. I then found out another individual was not attending and needed to make the call again to Showboat to inform them I would only need 1 water pass. This time around, I was able to confirm the water pass was added and there was no ID confirmation needed. At the time of writing this, I found out that floors within the resort from 1 - 14 were renovated/updated. Also, for some reason, the elevator bay that connected the hotel to the parking lot was only using 2 elevators out of the 5 that are there.
