"Rooms were fine, polite staff. Easy check-in"

We appreciated the prompt friendly service, no-wait check-in and clean rooms. One major disappointment that made our overall experience far less enjoyable, this hotel had no restaurants open late and no room service, and AC has little to offer late night if you want a decent meal. We came down for a concert at the Hard Rock Cafe and wanted to have a nice sit down dinner afterwards but the places we checked either required reservations, were closing or were already full. By the time we were willing to settle on quickie-type pub-style food, we couldn't even find a place still taking orders through DoorDash, UberEats or GrubHub - a bad ending to an otherwise good night.

Went for my daughter’s birthday this past weekend and I will never return. First; they don’t deal with the parking through a hotel it’s a separate company . As this was our first time and like every other hotel you pay when you leave. Well turns out you have to pay per day if not someone comes around giving tickets to cars . The ticket for me for one day alone was $75 . Then when asking a staff member they had no idea what I was referring to. After speaking to someone else they had to write an email to take the violation/ticket off and so we can then pay. That company was also harassing email me constantly even after I provided proof . We didn’t get to whit water park because the temperature is cold. How is it that it’s an indoor water park and the temperature is cold. On top of this we were forced to go to a different hotel to find food options as NOTHING except one little deli was open and then they dare to charge $25 per day for parking as a guest. The arcade is so nice, however most games are 40 tokens . 100 tokens for $20 which means 2 games and you already need to add extra money. The room had outlets that were lose and did no work, not enough towels for a two bed we only got two towels for showering. There were also 3 bugs that we had to kill around the toilet . Just overall a bad experience and we will never stay here again.

"A Mom’s Review of Hotel, Waterpark & Arcade"

Our family of four trip was for our son’s 14th birthday to the Islands Waterpark. We also brought two friends along. Because of the booking deal to stay at the hotel, we stayed at Showboat instead of Ocean, where we typically stay. Hotel: I appreciate the current ownership working hard to keep the history and beauty of this hotel, and I’m sure that the money from the waterpark will be reinvested into the hotel as a whole. We loved that it was a family friendly hotel and free from the smoke/etc that fill with the casino hotels. We stayed in the remodeled rooms in the Bourbon tower. The rooms were very clean, towel and pillows were nice. The Bathrooms were still dated but well maintained and very clean. Unfortunately the mattresses were very cheap, and my husband and I both slept very poorly. They were very thin and cheap. Additionally, the pull out bed in the love seat (not a full-size couch) was also extremely cheap and thin. The bedding for it wasn’t in the room either. We end up putting the couch cushions on top of the pull out mattress to make it a little better for our daughter, but she also slept very poorly. The valet and bell service were polite. Front desk would only check if our rooms were ready prior to 4pm if we paid $50 per room. They also don’t have a text system to let you know when your room is ready. Additionally, their isn’t anywhere to get breakfast, coffee, grab and go, etc or a lobby lounge in the hotel currently. You will need to go to Ocean or Hard Rock via the boardwalk. I’m hopeful this will be added as they continue to invest into the hotel with the revenue from the waterpark. I also wished the arcade games/claw machines, etc weren’t lining the main hall and they had more seating there instead to make it a little classier and comfortable for the parents. Waterpark: We loved everything about the waterpark! It was clean, well staffed, bathrooms spotless, food was good, atmosphere was great, we loved that they had tables and Adirondack chairs for seating options! Flow Rider staff was fantastic! The water and air was cooler then we liked, but I think this is because it was 30 degrees outside and they were trying to keep up. We will be back again and again for sure! Arcade and Raceway: I love how they kept the history of the old casino intact. It was neat to walk around with the kids and point out the old casino features. The pricing for the Raceway was too expensive, so we didn’t do that. It would have been $140 ($35 each) + tax for 4 kids to do one ride, I wish this would have been more reasonably priced. Excited to come back to the waterpark again, and hopefully the food options, and hotel enhancements will continue to grow as the restoration of this historic hotel continues :)

"Don't bother"

Room was dingy and in disrepair. We were right next to the elevator and could hear it through the wall going up and down constantly. Hairdryer did not work. Tried to call the front desk twice but no one ever answered. Also tried guest services once but they didn't answer either. Checkout was at 11am but housekeeping came at 10am. I told them to come back after we checked out. They came back 10 minutes later banging on the door. I was in the shower and when I didn't answer, they decided to walk into the room where my two kids were. Had an oceanside room but the windows were dirty and mucked up the view. Front desk staff member could hardly be bothered with us when we checked in and out. Won't be returning. Dined at Hard Rock and Resorts and the facilities were so, so much nicer at both. The only good thing about Showboat was that it was convenient to other nicer resorts.
