Let me preface this stating we were aware that the hotel lobby is still under construction although the rooms were recently renovated. The Sheraton Boston Hotel is directly adjacent to the Hynes Convention Center and connects to the Prudential Center shopping mall. Presently you would rely on the restaurants there as there were no on site restaurants at the hotel. Fortunately there are some good choices for meals including a grocery area in Eataly. You can connect to the T station thru Prudential Center without going outside. The problem is with the "remodeled" room being rather spartan and not up to the standards I would expect for the regular prices charged (unless you book through a discount offering attached to a promoted event or conference). The decor is blah, beige upon beige. Lighting could be better, and it took us awhile to figure out how to use the lights that are there. There isn't a sitting area or chairs nor do all rooms have a desk. Our room had a small round table with one utilitarian chair. The heating system was inconsistent as the room was either too warm or chilly. A definite draft came through the window whose curtains were too short and did not adequately close to block outside light. A clock is needed somewhere in the room. I miss rooms no longer having clock radios.. The more pressing problem is the bathroom (sorry that I didn't take a photo). The toilet is squeezed between the shower and the counter top for the sink, sticking out into the middle of the room. It's awkward for one person being in there. It's a feat trying to maneuver the logistics for two women trying to apply make-up or do their hair. There isn't any other space in the hotel room that could readily be used for this function. As a result it took my friend and I longer to get ready every day. It basically feels like a man had designed this space primarily for the needs of men only. I can't imagine trying to fit a family of four into the double room given the aforementioned bathroom situation and room size. Housekeeping did a good job, and their staff was very polite. The woman in charge of group reservations was extremely helpful to us, as two rooms were being reserved. The concierge found out information for us that was appreciated. This is basically a place for going to conferences where you won't need to be in your room much. It isn't really designed for family use or vacation where you may be in and out of the room.

Unless you are attending a conference in this hotel you can do better in Boston. The rooms and location are fine. Supposedly the rooms are renovated but they are not that exciting. Very Sheraton if you know what I mean. The curtains were not great and dingy, but on the side of the hotel I was assigned the view was either into the rooms of college students who now occupy half the hotel or the Four Seasons bathrooms, and I got a brief show I can’t unsee. The worst part is that the hotel has no restaurant or bar while they’re renovating. They suggest going to the mall but when you’re at a hotel you just want those basic conveniences without going outside. Also the lobby if you can call it that was an absolute gulag. I understand the reno is overdue but they really should have tried harder to make this space more welcoming. It sets the whole tone, and for me this hotel hit too many bad notes.

"Great female concierge, exceptionally poor cleaning"

Our experience was very poor. The hotel was still undergoing refurbishment and so that meant there was nowhere in the hotel to eat or drink, except in your room. But that was not the worst part of our stay. The beds and towels were not changed for 4 days and only then because I complained. One day the room was not serviced at all. There was also a disagreement between the doorman and the male concierge about getting a taxi. The latter said no taxis available, the former found one at the door of the hotel in 1 minute. But, on the plus side, the other concierge, AMY, was brilliant. They should let her manage the hotel!

Thanks to Daylin for helping us! We had a bit of a snafu with our room. Daylin was incredibly helpful in getting the situation sorted for my family and friends. We really appreciated this top notch service on a snowy Boston night. We were able to get a good night’s sleep!
