A seasonal outdoor pool is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. River Place Inn offers a complimentary "Grab & Go" breakfast including all prepackaged items such as muffins, cereals, yogurt, granola bars, juices, milk, coffee, and tea.

This Smoky Mountains area hotel is located on River Road, less than half a mile to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Cade's Cove is approximately two miles away and Ober Gatlinburg is within walking distance (0.1 mile). With a convenient location, the hotel is within easy walking distance to Gatlinburg Convention Center, Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway, fabulous restaurants, Sky Lift Park and Ripley's Aquarium.

Pet Policy: Up to two small dogs, under 50lbs each, are accepted and allowed in each room. A $40 nightly fee per dog is applied at the hotel upon arrival. "Huge Disappointment"

We booked the property based on all of the 5 star reviews and I'd say we were disappointed in our stay. The property is an older property that has been renovated to some degree but still has areas that need to be addressed in order to receive 5 stars IMO. The doors to the rooms open from the outdoors. I mention this as I know some have security concerns when staying in places like this. The bathtub in our room ran constantly - so much that orange rust has formed around the tub drain. The toilet also ran and we had to fill the tank with water daily for it to flush. The rug in the room needed a good steam clean and the microwave and mini fridge were mismatched colors. The room is dark even with lamps on and curtains back. The walls are super thin - so much that I heard the people in the room next door zip their luggage and full conversations/disagreements. The door to the balcony locks with an old school push button lock doorknob, which didn't feel all that safe. Maybe this is 5 star worthy for some, but for us, it was a far cry. The location is its saving grace, and the staff seemed nice, but I thought a truthful review with better perspective was needed for those considering the stay here so people could make the best decision when booking. Not on par for where we typically stay. Oh, and the pictures used on these sites are extremely outdated to reality.

Pic showed a rug, but we got cold cheap laminate. Pack slippers. There's no vending. Ice is in the office. $250 "cleaning" fee for smoking on the BALCONY is just a greedy cash grab. Stop calling it a two person hot tub. Unless one of them is Peter Dinklage, two people can't fit in there. It's an oversized one person tub with jets. The thing I liked best was the free parking you get with the room.

Great hotel in Gatlinburg. It is one block off the strip. Close to the action but quiet at night. Easy to get to and plenty of parking. The outside of the building is basic, but the rooms inside are excellent. Clean, mattresses are new and very comfortable, bedding is very nice. Lots of pillows, with different choices of firmness. Fire place is easy to use. Easy online check in. Staff is friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.
