"Great Toronto Downtown/Lake Front Hotel"

This hotel is great! Stayed here in November for 1 night while attending a concert in Toronto. Check in was smooth and the agents including the trainee were great. Recognized me as a Diamond member, and provided me 2 free breakfast vouchers! Room is very nice, faced the water, which provides a beautiful view of the water and planes landing at YTZ. Which by the way, you can’t hear at all! Room is very sound proof. There was a nice welcome gift of snacks and a sparkling water and beer from the brewery next door with a nice card. I’ve noticed many Choice properties are bad at providing it so it was certainly much appreciated. Beds are very comfy, big TV in the room and the bathroom is nice and has decent lighting options so it’s not super bright if that’s not what you want. The breakfast allowed us to select 2 menu items and the food was delicious! Not to mention the views of the lake are amazing. I’d go here to eat even if I wasn’t staying at the hotel! Pool was closed as it was November but it’s pretty big and looks like it would be a lot of fun in the summer. I asked for a 2 or 3pm late checkout and they didn’t hesitate and gave me 3pm. This allowed us to enjoy the following day and not rush. We ate breakfast and went for a nice long walk down by the water. Parking for the one night was $35 underground and allowed in and out privileges. I don’t think there’s street parking and for 1 night in downtown Toronto this seemed reasonable to me. I don’t write many reviews and stay at a lot of hotels but I had to for this property as it was one of the best stays I’ve had.

"Kertrica Provided Superior Customer Service!"

We made a reservation to stay at the Radisson Blu Toronto Downtown for three nights after our Viking Great Lakes Expedition Cruise. When we arrived at 9:30 AM to store our luggage, until the 3:00 PM checkin, we were greeted by Kertrica who said, "If you give me a moment, I will check to see if we have a room available shortly." Kertrica not only quickly located an available room for us, she also upgraded our reservation to a beautiful room facing the Lake. Thanks to her outstanding customer service, we were able to unpack and quickly head to the CN Tower and then to Ripley's Aquarium. We enjoyed our first day in Toronto and didn't have to hurry back for an afternoon checkin. Kertrica, you represent the best of Radisson Blu!

"Staff is friendly and responsible"

Hard review to write. The staff make this place. Everyone that we encountered was friendly and went above and beyond to make things right. The room was clean and fairly modern. We had a harbour facing view. Minor things like the fireplace and coffee maker were not working, but these were fixed while we were out of our room. Location is excellent. Short streetcar ride to Union opens up anywhere the TTC goes. I would like to come back in the summer. I would stay here again.

"Mediocre"

This hotel positions itself as upscale, but it is honestly pretty mid. There was hair left in the shower when I arrived and the staff were not helpful with issues like late check out, even though they were hosting a conference that didn’t end until later in their he day. There are so many hotels to choose from in the area, honestly I would go elsewhere.

very disappointing experience recently with Radisson Blu Toronto Downtown. First, booking was very complicated, when called, it went to their reservation center which I had no idea who I am talking to, choice hotel? Radisson's own booking desk? no idea, how the booking system worked. Then, the booking place told me that they are not able to see my corp rate, so asked me to call the hotel by my own, I did. I called the number of I think is the hotel's, but it was not, still some booking center or whatever. They said they can not adjusted the price with corp rate. Then I said I will have to cancel the reservation and require a confirmation of the cancellation. Waited a day, no confirmation received, and I found my credit card was charged $10 for no reason. I made another call to require a confirmaiton of cencellation and asked why I was charged. This time is the hotel, they said they are just testing if my credit card is valid. They say this is their standard procedure. I was very disappointed because they didn't notify me that they will charge for only testing. and with 2 days, refund still not received. This is not acceptable. I spend so much time to call during this whole process. When I require to talk to their manager, they said manager is in the meeting, and with no knowing time when I can receive the manager to call back. So disappointing service!!
