Marina del Rey Hotel in Marina del Rey, CA

The views are beautiful. You do not want to be pool side but rather the other side of the hotel if you can. LAX is close to the hotel, so if you like to sit on the balcony - the plane noise may bother you as it is constant. Also, with the pool and hot tub being right outside it can be a little noisy. The sea lions (or water puppies) as my son called them - are everywhere and like to talk a lot! That noise did not bother me at all! We enjoyed seeing them and seeing how they interact with the boats and people at the Marina. We arrived 2 hours early and our room was ready. This was a bonus because we were exhausted being on East Coast time! Our first room, the A/C didn’t work. They sent up maintenance in a couple minutes and because they could not resolve the issue, they moved us at 11 pm and even supplied a bellman and a cart right away. We did not eat at the restaurant at the hotel, not for lack of selection or the beautiful view, but we had other places we wanted to eat. Hi Ho Cheeburger is within walking distance 0.3 miles. They make in home banana cream pie and it is AMAZING! Our room was not serviced while we were there. They did deliver towels, additional lotion and extra coffee, tea, sugar and creamer as requested. We were only there 2 nights - so it wasn’t that much of a bother. The valets are fantastic and super nice! They remembered me the second day and spoke to me and my son for quite some time! If you are adventurous there are bikes on property you can rent for $8/hr. Proximity to the airport - cannot be beat unless you are in a hotel near the airport. Lyft took less than minutes and was happy to pick us up at 3:45 am. We were still there before the gate agents opened at 4 am. There is plenty to do within walking distance. The views are beautiful. The rugs are worn but the rooms are clean overall. The pool is heated and the hot tub is relaxing. I would recommend this location for anyone in the area looking for a place to stay with easy access to anything for the family.

MDR Hotel customer service has gone downhill including hte valet and the front desk. They now charge $52 for overnight parking whther you valet or self park. The front desk is not helpful and it is a marked change since I have been going there for 4 years. Great location, but the staff needs to be addressed.

Besides minor things (no one or nothing is perfect) but my fiancé & I had an amazing time & would love if they made their minor hiccups right. We would stay there again. There was a cleaning issue that I stopped me from fully enjoying our stay. Also me getting charged for something I ordered & never received, I notified the waiter and he must’ve forgot also didn’t take it off the receipt

We are so incredibly grateful to Marina del Rey Hotel Manager Mohamad "Mo" Nouhad & Guest Services Supervisor Nancy Canto for providing our family safe harbor after our home burned down in the Palisades Fire. The staff at the Marina del Rey Hotel could not have been more welcoming to us and all the other CA wildfire evacuees from the Pacific Palisades. Their kindness, compassion and excellent customer service were exceptional. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and would not hesitate to refer family and friends to stay at the MDR Hotel. You have a loyal customers for life in us. We are so grateful and wanted to express our heartfelt appreciation for all the managers and staff did on our behalf.

I was a frequent traveler to MDR Hotel prior to COVID but had not been back in several years but I must say, the hotel was even better than I remembered. The staff, the decor, the food, the room (comfort and style and cleanliness), the views, and awaking to the gentle sounds of the Seals in the harbor was memorable. I cannot wait to return.
