This is the second time I've stayed at the JW Marriott LA Live. We love the location and the rooms. They've recently increased their destination fee, but they've also increased the food and beverage credit. I did double-check my bill and went to the front desk to have it explained. I understand how their billing works now, but I still think there should be a credit to show the usage of the food and beverage credit. It makes understanding the bill a lot easier. The rooms like last time were soo comfortable and spacious. My family loved it! My husband enjoyed being able to view the Crypto center from our room. The one hiccup we encountered during our trip was valet misplacing our car. The valet gave us what they thought was our rental car. We told valet this was not our car, they ensured us they checked the entire lot and there were no other vans with our make and color. According to the valet, they checked everywhere on the lot. We were running late for dinner and had very hungry children. The manager said he would pay for any transportation fees. As we were about to call our ride, somehow our vanshoweds up. But they couldn't locate our keys. Then, as we were about to head to the lobby, our car keys showed up. That mess took about 30 minutes. We also found out from a friend, a few days before valet, also lost their car keys. So I guess if you don't have to drive then there's no issue. If you do, just pray you don't get into the same mess we did. Even with that incident, I would still stay here again, only without a car. Also, we only needed a car for 1 day. This hotel has a Hertz located on the 2nd floor. This made it very convenient as we were hiring private shuttles for most of our trip.

The JW is a big city hotel. So do not expect any personal touches, and certainly do not expect the staff to be particularly friendly. There is only one exception to that and that would be Joy, who literally was so nice at the front desk, she may be the saving force of this review because she made me feel so good. Don't get me wrong the hotel is very nice. The lobby is loud and makes you feel like you are in the heart of nightlife in the biggest city in California. Once you are up to your room, the rooms are absolutely quiet and they are large and well accommodated. The linens are soft and wonderful and the towels are plush. The large room allowed me to spread out and make myself at home. There was plenty of outlets to plug devices into, and they were on both sides of the bed, which is really a plus. The view I had was not very attractive, basically just an ugly wall view, but I get it, it's the city, so some rooms have to have these views. That being said, if this is important to you, you better figure out how to get the view since they did not seem to guarantee views. I did use the gym, which was quite nice. Wonderful modern updated equipment, and they really made you feel welcome with water bottles and towels on all of the machines. The bar in the hotel was expensive, but that makes sense. It was also very very loud. The location was everything. It was in the heart of LA Live, which means all of the arenas, and the LA Convention center, and also all of the great bars and restaurants.

We had a 1 night stay here for a basketball game in the Crypto. We are a family of 4 booked the cheapest room on their website. It was perfect for us, even better for my kids it was on the 21st floor. They were very happy about that! We'd a great view. The hotel itself is business and conference but it's location near the Crypto made us book. It was a 5min walk to the stadium. Hotel was quiet, comfortable beds, modern bathrooms. The area around the hotel isn't great but we felt safe here.
